I like this light weight and compact net
I like this light weight and compact net. Folded it measures 24 1/2". Unfolded and ready to use it can be set from 37" to 65" or anywhere in between. I found the grooved thumb release button a little difficult to master at first. The trick is to grasp the pole as though you are going to use your thumb on the grooved part to pull back on the release and instead use your index finger to push down towards the handle from the flat top portion and it works perfectly every time. Just remember it's a lite weight aluminum landing net and not a pry bar. It will land a 15lb catfish but it won't get your boat off a sandbar.

Working great so far
Working great so far. Had it for a year, but not for fishing use. We use it to scoop things that we drop out of the boat (sunglasses, etc) and random trash we find floating. Collapses and stores in a small space.

Five Stars
Perfect for pulling a catch into the boat, or even trying to grab the occasional minnow from the beach.

They look great and telescope in and out nice
Bought 2 of these to dip small pass crabs (tarpon bait) in Boca Grande pass. They look great and telescope in and out nice,, until you actually use them...both had the handles/poles break within 15 minutes from weight of the water against them!! The holes are small and the water doesn't flow through, which puts pressure back on the handles/poles while you're actually dipping with them. The handle material is just not heavy enough to support any weight at all to make them useful... get ready, they will break on you !!

Crabs easily come out
This net worked great on a recent crabbing trip.So happy with the ability to fold away to store in trunk and the crabs were easily removed from net with out getting caught up in it

They seem to be made of pretty cheap and flimsy metal
My kids 10 and 11 years old were using these to catch minnows along the shore of a calm beach. They weren't doing anything extreme with them but seem to be made poorly. I bought 1 and my ex-wife bought one and they both broke. The metal handles snapped right off (not where the plastic pieces joins them but the actual metal pole). They seem to be made of pretty cheap and flimsy metal. So now I have 2 nets that are broken and useless

poor quality and design makes this less expensive net not ...
Bought in Jan. 2018, YTD: caught > 120 fish (crappie, trout, bass), and used for fly fishing. The plastic length adjuster cracked early on so the pole would slide up & down intermittently but the net was still usable. The plastic tubing holding the net's open shape just broke so now I'm capturing fish with a partially open net. I am mainly a catch & release person but I noticed the net would have scales all over it afterwards. My hook gets caught on the net too often which makes it hard to get the hook out if you have the fish's mouth sandwiched between the hook and net. Summary: Besides the the unsafe net for fish release plus the annoyance of frequently hooking of the net, poor quality and design makes this less expensive net not worth the $$ or time. I should have researched what qualities a net should have first...
