The intriguing two-tone coloring that shows black groves and a brushed over grey is really just a solid mid-tone gray. The actual model is much lighter gray in appearance (The lightest gray in the photo) -- so much so that I didn't recognize it as the same item. It is still a cute, very well-crafted physical model of a foal. Just expect it to be lighter gray. I'm keeping it!

Schleich toy horses are by far the highest quality toy horses. Yes they are a bit pricey but its a one time buy for a lifetime. Never seen one of these damaged in any way no matter the age of child playing. Detail is amazing and my kids love them. Strongly suggest paying the extra $$ and going with Schleich
