Wow Hymns

I love hymns, & I like most of these artists, but I don't care for most of these arrangements. There are too many very good hymn albums out there with great songs, good artists, & great arrangements, but you may like this one. I was surprised how much I liked "This Is My Father's World" by Amy Grant. "The Old Rugged Cross" by Bart Millard was also very good as well as "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing" by Mark Schultz. "Rock of Ages" by Chris Rice was good, but I have it on "Peace Like a River: The Hymns Project" which I highly recommend. I already have "There Is a Fountain" by Selah on the great "Press On" album. "Trust and Obey" by Big Daddy Weave was also very good. I have a whole album of hymns by Avalon that I don't care for. Point of Grace has great talent, but their arrangement of "All Hail the Power of Jesus Name" just doesn't seem to go with the song. Many of the other songs are just ok, so I didn't even bother to rip them to my computer. I have too many hymns albums that are much better, but it's just a matter of taste. You might love it. After all, the words are great.

I bought this just before Christmas, and am very happy with my purchase. This is lovely playing in the background while we wrap presents, decorate the tree, bake cookies etc. Warm and gentle arrangements reminding us of the reason for the season: Jesus!!! I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 because in general I find a lot of contemporary Christian music to be a tad monotonous for my taste, so I can't honestly say I LOVE it but I do like it very much, especially at Christmas.

I bought this album again after my first copy was stolen from my house. This is definately a great cd set. They are some really awesome Hymns that I remember growing up in church with today's artist singing them so they aren't so dry and borring to me and because of this cd I have discovered how awesome and amazing these hymns are. If you are debating about getting this cd I would definately buy it. When it comes to great music like this there is no such thing as wasting your money on it.

Thankful for good music! The case was broken into pieces when I got it and it wouldn't open or close. Would buy again just for the uplifting music.

Nothing bad against the company who I bought this from. Just disappointed in the CD. I wanted a CD of the hymns as I sang them in church as a child. The new artrists have to put there "twist" on these beautiful classic hymns and that is not what I personally wanted.

i have to admit i've never been a big fan of hymns. they remind me of the days my parents forced me to sit through a sermon at church in a language i could barely understand. these days, i'm a youth leader at my church and i'm always on the lookout for ways my kids can take something spiritual into their daily lives. this is a great addition for their ipods! some of the most well known christian artists sing these hymns, updated but still reverent.

This hymns album is very good! The most well-known hymns sung by contemporary artists! I knew much of them. I liked practically every song in this album. Just didn't like "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" by Israel Houghton and "Be Thou My Vision" (and I love this hymn!) by Fernando Ortega. Out of that, it's highly recommended by me, and I think WOW should make more compilations like this one.

Overall solid effort by various artists. Some of the songs are a little too "hip-hop" for my tastes but that's a personal preference, not a knock on the recording. Overall I really enjoyed the modern take on classic hymns.

ほとんど教会で賛美した曲ばかりで、それぞれのアーチストにより賛美歌が更に厚みを増して新しい賛美となっています。キャスティング・クラウンズのTis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus（聖歌５１４番　主と主の言葉に）は教会で良く歌う賛美です。彼らのアレンジにより原曲を変えることなく、そのまんま本当に古い賛美も新しいものとなって、すごく気に入ってしまいました。
