Does Not Mention Profit!
Anyone who has run a small business knows that the only two numbers that are important are cash flow and profit. Turnover is largely irrelevant. Whilst the book title - Million Dollar, One-Person Business - is a great attention grabber, what would make the book valuable is understanding how much profit these businesses are making. A business with a million dollar turnover with no, or little profit, is a bad business; time-consuming to run, with no value and providing the owners with a stress-filled life. A business with a turnover of a $100,000 a year which makes, $90,000 profit and takes a day a week to run would be a much better business. Without discussing profit and the ability to sustain profitability the book is interesting but not useful.

Every Entrepreneur Should Read This
There's certainly a growing trend for people with an entrepreneurial streak to start their own businesses, and this book has a slightly different take on that objective. Instead of starting a business which then goes on to hire a number of employees - not always the best route, and often costly - this book, as the title suggests, concentrates on a number of case histories where individuals have, often only with their partners, achieved sales of a million plus $.Highly recommended to anyone thinking of starting out on a similar journey.

I do understand the bad reviews to this book
I do understand the bad reviews to this book. Probably people are expecting a book with steps to become a one-person business with a revenue of seven figures. The book is great. Full of wisdom and real stories of people who make it. If you read that properly you will learn a lot from it. I was very inspired by it and I am sure you will be too.

Some useful tid bits, but overall not much here.
Overall, I think this book could have been shrunk into a long blog with tidbits from existing 1MM / year revenue business owners. There's nothing groundbreaking or revolutionary in this book. Most of this information can be found online. With that being said there are some useful bits of info. The biggest issue I have with the content is it's completely focused on revenue. I think this book may have gone from 2 stars to 3 if there was some insight into the actual profit some of these businesses are making. There are examples of businesses that use drop shipping which eats heavily into margins but there's very little information on what net profit looks like in these companies. It's an OK book that you can finish in a couple of days. However, I think there's better content for potential business owners out there. I think this reiterates my thesis that one should never buy a business book from an author who isn't a successful business owner themselves.
