Great pet bowl.
Heavy duty pet bowl. The rubber bottom makes it easier for pets to completely clean the bowl. The only complaint I have is the sticky label on the bowl. Very petty but very difficult to remove.

My Durapet bowl review and rust probability commentary
I am going to give these bowls a 5 star review. In fact, I am ordering some more. This time, I am ordering some for a second cat. Some people have had problems with rust when using these bowls. I've had the same problems with rust but I don't now. Here is my reason why. I ignore the "Dishwasher Safe" designation. It may be true that these bowls are largely dishwasher safe. I am thinking that ONLY THE STAINLESS STEEL is dishwasher safe. I have only a few problems with rust in the chromed part of the bowl. The problem is NOT dramatic but I did have to treat the rust to remove it and then protect that tiny area so it won't rust again (as best I can). Not a big issue. After that, I hand wash the bowl. No more or a very minor problem. I searched to see what makes a metal dishwasher safe. Those metals or "mix" of metals need a specific recipe of metals for them to be "safe". The "mix" could need some adjustment. A beefier formulation may be needed. Or, the problem may not be the problem with the stainless steel at all. Yet, hand washing makes all the difference. No more issues. These bowls are easy to hand wash. There are just a few and my dog and cats don't get on my case if I don't wash them often. So, i like these bowls. I like the way they are constructed, the rubber ring on the bottom, the chrome on the inside of the bowl, the price, the quality, etc. So, for all of these reasons, these are a good bowl to buy. However, the may, and I emphasize may, be a problem if these bowls are washed, repeatedly, in the dishwasher.

Very nice bowl!!
We love this bowl. Its hold a very good amount of water that my dogs go through in a day's time. We were previously using an older tupperware plastic bowl that was the only thing large enough for them to have enough water last them in a day. The bad part was that tupperware isn't exactly smooth so it saved the grime and showed the grim at the water lines. We were constantly washing the water bowl and scrubbing old grime off. So I had about enough of that and went big on a bowl like this. So far after 2 weeks I don't get any slimy grime build up on it. If the water were dirty you can obviously see it right away too because of the shininess. It stays put in place and is very wide so both dogs can stick their fat heads in to get a drink at the same time. Its holds plenty of water as I said and with a quick rinse of some hot water and mild soap its no problem getting it squeeky clean if you just rub with your fingers. I like the bowl for sure and we shall see in time how durable it is. We are pleased.

Don't listen to the naysayers, these are very nice bowls. Just take care of them.
I read a number of criticisms regarding this product, (some of which were quite harsh) before purchasing, Many times these criticisms are unfounded and are the result of a lack of information, and/or stupidity. These bowls are made of stainless steel. It is a common misconception that the characterization of "stainless" as it applies to steel means that it is or will be "rust free." That is not true. Stainless steel is an alloy of about 15 different chemicals, including but not limited to iron (Fe) and they are combined during the smelting process. The manufacture of stainless steel, although fairly precise is not perfect, and because of the very processes involved, and the fact that this is a "man-made" process encourages variances and imperfections. Stainless steel is an alloy, which means that it is the combination of chemicals such as carbon, manganese, nickel, cobalt etc. etc. Each of these chemicals reacts to the others in such a way as to produce a desirable effect, i.e. the product won't be susceptible to staining, or rusting, but over time and because of imprecision, all chemicals revert to their original susceptibilities, which means that if you have iron and it is exposed to oxygen, at some point you will have oxidation or rust. This means that you still must use care in maintaining their desirable properties, i.e. wash with gentle detergents, (hand-wash) and dry them, (again by hand) to prevent less desirable outcomes. These bowls were made by a manufacturer who purchased rolled stainless steel alloy and by putting this metal through a stamping process formed the bowl. It was probably then buffed and polished to give it the dazzling gleam before sent to market. The long and short of it is, that these bowls will perform flawlessly for many, many years if properly maintained as previously suggested and because they suffered some rusting, does not in and of itself make them inferior. It simply means that the purchaser relied on his or her misinformation combined with laziness to draw their conclusion. These are very nice bowls and if properly cared for will perform as advertised.

If your dog is like mine, he won't like it...BUT....
I gave this 4 stars because of all the bowls I've bought and returned recently, this one is nice and I'm going to keep it. But I can't use it for what I bought it for.....which was a new indoor water bowl.....because the inside is so SHINY. Add water and put in a well lit kitchen and you have yourself a high powered mirror....and it scared the crap out of my 85lb German Shepherd. After his first glance into the eyes staring back at him he would NOT stick his face back in it to drink. So, it's a food bowl for my 10lb Chug (Chi x Pug), which is ridiculous. Hoping it will dull up with use because it is a nice bowl, perfect size. Oh well, what can you do?!

These are perfect bowls for the price
I really am happy with these bowls. I bought two at first. Once I had them for a few weeks I bought a third just to have for taking along on our boat for the stability. I haven't put them in the dishwasher because they are so easy to hand wash. I see no issue with rusting. I've had them for enough time to say the quality is very good. I like that they don't move around due to the base material. We use a metal fork or spoon for mix in wet food and the bowls have held up fine with minimal fine scratches like any metal would show, but no sign of wear indicating bowl won't last. I wouldn't hesitate to buy again.

Great quality
Great! Sturdy, perfect size for my golden retriever, excellent grippy base, been through the dishwasher at least 20 times by now. How a dog bowl should be. Would buy again.

Great product, you can't go wrong.
Great product! The bowl holds a great amount of food and the non-slip element is surprisingly strong. This is a great value for the price.

Used for a boxer dog, it could accomodate even bigger dog! does not slip when pushed around. Safe and sturdy. recommend hand-wash to preserve silicone base.

Bought three of different sizes and they all work very well. They stick to the floor and are stainless so healthier for my cat.

Great for an upgrade!
This dog bowl is great! I purchased one as an upgrade for my pup's current water bowl because I was getting tired of having to refill it so often. This bowl has been a great replacement. I still change his water frequently but I certainly do not have to fill it up quite as often as I did with his old one. I only bought one as I wasn't sure what the quality would be like but I'm going to be ordering a second one to replace his current food dish. I really like that the bottom has a rubberized ring which keeps it from sliding all over the floor. Overall the bowl is high quality stainless steel and is quite large!

High quality
I have never heard of the brand so I wasn't sure what to expect, but these are great bowls. We have had them two years and they have held up great. It is heavy stainless so no dents or rust. The rubber bottom has stayed on over multiple trips through the dishwasher.
