Swish! (And there goes the net!)
The Rim itself gets a 4.7/5. Seems solid enough i guess for my application and was the only 12" standalone replacement rim I could find. Bonus points for that. (pls excuse the semi-exhaustive tangent here.....and im no professional or amateur or any type of welder whatsoever so pls consider the source; but also consider the commonality of the sense of what im about to suggest: i never understood why the welder chooses to just tack weld the two pieces of metal together at the opposing ends of the seam where they meet to join them instead of mig welding the length of the seam completely from end to end, creating a bond that is clearly - even to the untrained, ignorant eye- far & away stronger & superior than that 'two-hasty-tack-welds-separated-by-a-4"-stretch-of-sunlight-that-was-prime-location-for-some-mig-welding' missed-opportunity-method that sadly far too many persons, including this manufacturer, opt for. Of course the most obvious downside to my method over their's is increased time/lower productivity. The time it takes to manufacture one basketball rim from beginning to end of the process would increase by.....a dozen seconds? .....15 seconds ? or so on each product, yes of course; but only in the same respect as the lifespan, strength, stability, solidity, rigidity, quality, integrity, & overall workmanship of the finished product listed for sale would also increase, albeit one far less exponential, which is great considering the 'increase' in this case is actually an undesired outcome for once. Idk, correct me if i wrong here cuz I'm also not some wildly successful business magnate who built it from the ground up with $3.50 to my name 50 years with my bare hands; nor do I have experience in product development, QA, or QC; and I certainly have never fabricated or struck a 12" steel basketball rim assembly from molten ore (that's MOTHS, you dumb@$$), but to me it seems like kind of a fair trade-off. A quarter-minute or less longer to the process per item -one(1) con - for allllllll those (2+) pros, one of which is the very real possibility of a unlimited triple-gainor dives from the high board into a sea of gold coins, a la Uncle Scrooge McD. Higher quality finished products, better reviewed products, superior products to the competition, naturally generate larger profit gains amidst soaring sales numbers and are reflective of & relative to being able to suggest higher MSRPs. They also encourage more 5-star reviews from satisfied customers, resulting in more word-of-mouth sales. These types of products also are the ones that are featured on landing pages, auto-populated regularly in related item ad banners on product pages, or end up on best-selling, best of, & awards lists & registries, all of which almost always equates increased sales totals & net profits. Seems perhaps at least slightly worthwhile to kick around the idea of expanding the fabrication process to allow a few extra seconds for the in-house welding team member to show off his mig welding skills on what remains of that 1/32" wide, 4" long seam previously overlooked or passed over. More like a no-brainer actually. Instantaneous frog leap over the competition (who still tacks rather than migs. They all tack) and into the top spot on the strength of that weld alone; strength that breeds longevity & rigidity and reeks of quality. But what do I know??) Sorry. Had to. It's too soon to review this rim accurately & fairly for quality as it relates to its longevity and integrity based on current tack weld processes, but it seems to be of solid construction otherwise and free from glaring defects that could give way to aggravating or annoying undesirable user-product interactions, detract from/fully prevent the standard user experience as intended, or render the product useless in no time altogether. Having said that, it IS a 12" mini fixed rim, rather than a full size 18" breakaway, for example, so I don't anticipate this rim being able to withstand repeated shoot arounds with 29.5", 22oz, Size 7 official basketballs, nor do i suggest it, though doing so would most likely refine your shot beautifully as swishing a full size ball into a rim that is 6" smaller is that much more difficult. And satisfying when(if) you can. Secondary support rod beneath the rim prob could have exceeded the 3/16" variant they chose, and prob could have offered additional support that would certainly become useful over time with use, had it not been a 3/16" alloy rod but rather more like a 3/8". Have to remind Myself this rim only cost $25. Comparable (but larger) options can climb into triple digits. I built my whole setup (indoor/outdoor) using lumber cutoffs for under $75. Similar quality & size prefab complete hoops (with similar indoor mounting configurations but with no outdoor pole options/hardware) from other retailers are double, even triple that. The price difference savings went straight into savings. Win! Does not come with hardware/fasteners of any kind, however, which it prob should & is disappointing if you were looking for a quick setup & play. Item shipped fast and is as described, at a fair price. • • The net, as alluded to by others, is garbage. 0.9/5.0. Looks nice in red white & blue ('merica!!) and feels sturdy by material weight, but dont look at it too long or itll fall to pieces. One hour-long laid-back indoor shoot around with size 3 silent basketballs and its shredded already. Unfortunate but easy, cheap fix and opens door for me to try out the new plastic chain link net I'm hearing about. Seller should consider bumping MSRP up a buck or two and hografing the net, or dropping it the same & selling just the rim. Nobody should be paying a dime toward the MSRP for their choice of net. Yikes! • • Overall Grade im rounding up to 5 stars, from 4.6. The net sucks but carries very little weight one way or the other considering ease & cost of replacement. I made my own custom mini backboard from scratch, painted it official colors, and used a tv mount bracket easily mount/unmount my hoop to the wall in my sons room. Also have an alternate setup to quickly attach it to an 8' post that slips into a sleeve in the ground for outdoor Pick up games in a jiffy. I recommend you fabricate your backboard to a size of 16"x24" or slightly larger and thru-bolt the rim to the backboard for ultimate stability.

Extremely Happy
Bought this to replace the rim on my pool basketball. Had to drill a couple of holes to make it fit, but the nets fit better than the original rim.

Perfect!
This Basketball rim comes with a net! It is the prefect replacement rim for our Pool Basketball hoop. I was looking for a smaller rim size than your standard rim. The original rim was plastic and only lasted 3 years! Great find & nice & sturdy. The Grandboys are going to be thrilled. Great Quality & Quick delivery. My husband used reg screws so we can easily remove & replace it when needed next time.

Great value for price
We used this as a prop in a middle school musical and it was great for that! We only used it for its intended purpose slightly on stage so I can’t attest to its durability. But it was easy to install on our backdrop (wood panel) and was the perfect size! Very secure with all the bolts that came with it.

Great rims/poor quality nets.
Rims are nice and sturdy. The nets are cheaply made. The nets disintegrated after three months. Literally pulled right apart.

Very sturdy
Good quality rim. We mounted on the board that we made and it looks great! Only problem is the net comes off easy. I would have put it back on for the picture but couldn’t reach. Overall it’s a good rim.
