Streamlight 85115 Flip Lens for TL-2, NF-2, Scorpion, Strion Flashlights, Red

This works as advertised and has held up well to some abuse.

Someone said brightness was an issue… This is a red filter for low light situations that does not disrupt your vision or ability to see well in low light. This filter does great for sneak peaks in dark rooms or admin issues while working in total darkness. Over a year now and no failures on this cap and continues to work great with what it’s intended to do.

I bought this knowing that it is NOT spec'd to work with the Protac lights nor the with Protac headlamp. (No flip-up red filter exists for the Protac although they do make this flimsy rubber sleeve version which flops around if you remove it for white light.) Streamlight's bezel diameters are all over the place but those numbers are fortunately published on the website PDF spec sheet. In this case, the Strion bezel, and the filter purchased, is about 1.7MM larger in diameter than the bezel of the Protac headlamp. I simply wrapped about a 1/2" wide strip of GI speedtape around the headlamp bezel for 2 full rotations. That had the perfect effect and the tape is not visible. Hope that helps somebody.

I wanted to get a red lens for my protac 90x; however this is the smallest version with a flip up lens. If you find yourself in a similar quandary, here’s the fix. On the protacs bezel, you can see two cut outs that an o-ring would fit in. Place one #17 o-ring in each groove. The lens will be a tight fit, but the lens will be very secure.

This product is perfect for what I needed, which is protecting my night vision while driving and around the campsite. When you look at the picture you might think there is a ring of nothing around the red lens. This is not the case. What might appear to be a gap between the lens and the outer ring is actually a metal retaining ring that holds the red lens in place.This product is very well made. The fit to the Strion flashlight is very snug, so don't worry about this thing falling off at the wrong time. The lens is easy to flip open if you need white light, but when closed there are no white light leaks at all. The design is great, the manufacturing is top notch, and ease of use couldn't be better.Would I recommend it to a friend or family member? Absolutely. If you walk, jog, or bicycle in low light situations I can see this being a great safety addition to your outfit. If you already have the Strion this product is worth every penny.

I bought this because I wanted a green filter on my tlr-1 light to keep from blinding myself in the middle of the night if I have to use it for identification. I knew this would be slightly too big so I wrapped the outer bezel of the trl-1 with electrical tape a few times. Now this filter fits perfectly! Snug and secure and the lid closes perfectly. Yes, Streamlight makes a filter specifically for the tlr-1 but the front isn't hinged so it works differently. With this one I can keep the green on it when it is needed and simply use a finger and flip down the front when I need a bright white light. This filter also fits other lights I own that have a one inch head. I am probably going to buy a red and IR to test out also.

It's nice, but it doesn't fit my olight baldr pro pistol light with laser. I know I know, I got it for a different company's flash light, but trying to find a color changing cover for a flashlight is a lot more difficult than I would have thought. I'm probably going to just put it on a different light, but I looked at the dimensions. What was on Amazon sounded right, but it wasn't even close.
