I drive for Lyft and Uber and this is the thing to have for passengers. Functionally it can charge almost anything. It is easy enough for the average customer to use. The size is not intrusive. The design is perfect for what it is and it ispretty high quality design.

I’m an Uber driver and EVERYONE loves this gadget! It charges super fast even with multiple devices connected. There’s a plug for any type of phone or device you may be using, the cords are long enough to reach anywhere in my full size sedan, it lights up so it’s easy to see at night without being annoying or distracting as the driver, not difficult to install nor too heavy but quite sturdy. My favorite part is that the cord is retractable so cords don’t get a chance to get tangled or stepped on

This has worked out well for me. Customers are delighted by it. They often ask me where they can get one. No scientific tests or nothing, but customers tell me that it does appear that it charges very quickly. Now, as for the durability, I’ve had this out for customer use, 8 hours a day, five days a week, for the last three months. It seems to have held up very well. No one EVER retracts it, so I end up doing that myself in between rides. That’s how I know the mechanism still works. But here was my torture test: I had a special needs child in my ride share traveling to the airport with her mom. That kid loved pulling the cords out and retracting them, over and over again, and yes, it is legitimately satisfying to do that. The mom was stopping her, but I said no, let her keep playing with it. She was really giggling. Now, I was happy to have something so entertaining for her, and that gave me a lot of joy, but in the back of my mind I was a just a little worried about it breaking. But I figured, 30 bucks, no big deal. If it breaks, it breaks, right? I can get another one. But no, it was fine. Still going strong.

I was excited to install this charger set in my rideshare vehicle. But I encountered a few problems: First, the cigarette lighter socket in my armrest caddy (2017 Mazda CX-5) stays active even when my car ignition is off, so the charger will slowly drain your car battery while you park, if you don't remember ro unplug it every time. Second, the cord from the cigarette port to the charging unit comes with tiny little adhesive hooks, to attach it along your seat. Well, one warm day in March a few days after installing, they came off, leaving little adhesive glue marks on my leather seats. The hooks seem very unlikey to stay adhesed going forward, through even one hot summer day. Finally, not one of my backseat passengers in two weeks have cared to charge their phone with it. My husband in the front passenger seat was the first to need it, but the cord doesn't quite reach into the front passenger seat. You have to hold the phone near the charger over your shoulder to charge. So h'uh. Three stars seems generous.
