Take the good with the bad.
Mixed thoughts on these guys. I have a set from about a year and a half ago and purchased a set a few months back. Before a discussion on differences, some overview thoughts.- For the price, these are good lights. Distance isn’t great, but they make for a great work light around the truck.- Seem yo be decently rugged. I don’t have mine permanently mounted, but I have them on a magnet mount with a quick disconnect power to add light where and when I need it around my truck when doing off-road Racing. They have bounced around the truck bed, took bags, and boxes and no issues. Some things I don’t like.- the mounting system sucks. Super hard to get the thing out together, and then it’s impossible to keep it tightened down. I would have to load this up with locktite if I was permanently mounting it.- color temperature. The old run I have had a great warm white color tone to the LEDs. Still had the ‘led look’ to them, but had a nice warmth to it also. But the second set I got was SIGNIFICANTLY more blue. To the point where it’s weird to use them together. I definitely prefer the color temperature of the first run, but looks like with popularity and time they have found ways to reduce cost and changed the LED module sourcing. A shame. In the end, I will probably look to these in the future for cheap, almost disposable level LED lights, but no longer the diamond in the rough they used to be.

Good lights, bright and nice spread.
I purchased two of the flood lights to mount on the rear of my van. As you can see from the photos, I mounted them on the high top portion of the van. I wired these with a toggle switch so that I can turn them on when I need them. I will be camping in the van a lot and can foresee needing light behind the vehicle.Installation is fairly straightforward. You drill a single hole to mount the bracket and a separate hole to run the wire. The difficulty comes in with mounting the light onto the bracket. It requires that you manipulate a little rectangular nut into a rectangular recess in the housing, then thread the screw through the bracket, through a hole in the housing and finally try to get the nut to line up with the screw. It can be a frustrating experience since you can't fit your fingers in the recess. I had to use a pair of needle nose pliers to hold the nut in place. A better design would be simply to have the receiving threads manufactured into the housing so that you can avoid the nut altogether. As far as wiring goes, you can buy the wiring harness sold by Kawell (or others) that contains a relay. I did quite a bit of research online and the consensus seems to be that with LED lights of this low wattage you don't need to install a relay, so I didn't. If my van burns down, I'll update the review. As for the light these unit produce, I like the color temperature and brightness. These throw a lot of light, especially mounted high. I feel sorry for the dude that rides my tail with his brights on, because he's going to get a face full of retribution!I can't speak about water resistance yet. If I have trouble, I will update the review.

See update to review. Not a let down. "What a let down, worked good when tested but died before I could get them hooked up."
UPDATE - 12/26/15 - My original review is below. I am updating because it was my error and not the light causing the problem. I tested the light and did not pay attention to which cable I used for Pos and Neg. This is normally not an issue in lighting but these are LED lights and there is most likely a logic board that excepts only Pos and Neg on there intended input output wires. Normally just making a complete circuit works. I tested it again after noticing my new LED light had Red marked Positive and Black Negative only. I must have used black for positive and red for negative when the light didn't work. The light is now working and ok. Im happy with it so far but its not as bright as I wanted and assumed given the lumen rating."As others stated. Initially, I was impressed. Connected to a 12v battery they were very bright and for the price I was very pleased. I mounted this in my trunk and finally got my power bus wired up after months of having the light mounted to the trunk hood. Went to hook it up finally and got nothing. Light is dead. I have subs in the trunk so I'm not sure if the constant intense vibration was a factor or just the cold weather but the light no longer works.Close examination shows the lens or cover to have some build up or markings that I cant explain. Maybe moisture... Lastly, the wiring is tiny. The wiring coming out the back of this light appears to be an extremely small awg or gauge. Very fragile and hard to work with when trying to remove insulation."

Didn't work right out of the box
Finally got around to installing it and fresh out of the package did not work beyond frustrating

You get what you pay for.
I bought this to use as a backup light for my Jeep. It's obviously not very expensive. For the price, it's pretty good. The finish looks fine. The negatives are the supplied bracket is not the right size and when tightening it the arms bend in. I don't have much confidence in the bolt and screws supplied. The amount of light it provides is adequate at best. This is NOT a retina scorcher. The color of the light emitted is cool white, not blue but certainly not neutral or warm.I have no confidence in the watertightness of the lens and will absolutely apply a bead of silicone around the contour as well as where the wire enters the unit.Overall decent for the price. I'll keep my fingers crossed in terms of durability.Dec.16.2015. Update. Humidity already visible on inside lens. After a few days installed on the back of my Jeep. For symmetry I bought a second one and installed it opposite the first. The newer unit has shinier reflectors than the original, I'm not sure if the humidity altered the first. I Really don't want to have to take these down to send them back. Wiring and customs brackets were a PITA to install.Jan.3.2016 Update: Filed to send this unit back for reimbursement. I'm going to order another and hope for the best. The second one i received has held up, however it's been sub zero since install and I haven't been parking indoors. I'm really not looking forward to removing one and reinstalling.

Nice, but not weather proof.
The housing on these lights is very nice, solid and heavy, seems well constructed. It is also compact and nice looking. The lights are very bright with a very clear pattern, no dim or bright spots. They are very nice driving with them, fairly easy to install except that the light should be attached to the mount before attaching the mount to the vehicle, otherwise it is very difficult to start and tighten the screws attaching the light to the mount. After mounting these and driving for two days I parked my truck for a few weeks. One of the lights now has a lot of condensation inside the lens. This is definitely not waterproof. Maybe just a bad batch? I'm tempted to buy the same one again to replace it because they are very nice, and just disassemble it and seal it myself to make sure it will last.

Good, but not great.
Half decent metal enclosure. Hard to mount though since there's no threads built into the fixture. Instead you must slide small square nuts into place.**UPDATE**after several months of having this product on the back of my vehicle, i've noticed there's excessive moisture built up inside the lens. This product is NOT waterproof as it's advertised. It still appears to be working alright but im concerned with the coming cold months that it will stop working and have to be replaced.**UPDATE 2**item has stopped working after 5ish months of ownership. Look elsewhere.

Decent
Ive Put this on a old rattling snow blower because it was cheaper and brighter then the bulb, and after using it for a season im impressed. Id recommend.

Holding brake too wide for the lamp casting. requires washers on each side. But works well.
Does light very well. Had to add 3 aluminum washers on each side to widen the lamp casting to fit the holding bracket width. Beside that, all is fine.
