TLDR; This is a very sturdy, long lasting, and portable fire-poker that's perfect for camping.Years ago I picked up a telescoping fire-poker at WalMart that made the first night of a camping trip search for a piece of wood long and thick enough to serve as the trip's fire-poker obsolete. It was a complete novelty buy, but it ended up becoming one of those treasured items you can't live without. When it broke a few years later, I couldn't find one locally and when looking online, I found that I had lucked out - most of the reviews reported it failing (the way mine had) almost immediately after purchase. Since the price had gone up considerably since originally buying it, I looked for a more reliable alternative.There were tons of options that weren't portable, but I needed something that would fit in my camping tote between trips - and finally I found the Wise Moose Fire Poker. It was a bit more than I wanted to spend, but it appeared to be very well constructed and would hopefully outlast me.I can say that it has been well worth the investment! This thing is SOLID. My old one always felt like was a tap away from falling apart, bending or breaking; definitely NOT an issue with this one!PROS:- Extremely well constructed- Portable- The "blow hole" is a neat feature- Outer coating prevents rust (and looks nice)- Others will begin to refer to you as the "Fire Master" or "Fire Whisperer" on camping trips- Everyone wants you and your fire-poker at their campsiteCONS:- Breaks down to two separate pieces (making it easier to lose one of the pieces or leave one at home)- The threading *could* rust - I've treated the threads to prevent this- Potential for damaging the threads- You may feel used for your fire-poker

Well made, easy to assemble. Would be more usable to me if the side spike was closer to the end of the shaft.

I spend a lot of time around my fire pit. I cook on it. Entertain around it. I spend many evenings around it enjoying a fire. And I do it all year round. The Wise Moose Fire Poker is sturdy enough to move logs around and reposition them as needed. And the added functionality of being able to strategically direct a stream of air to induce burning is particularly handy. This is my favorite fire pit tool...ever!

This fire poker is great quality. Very study. I purchased another brand previously for a higher price & it broke the 2nd use. Blower is so helpful.

I needed a multi-use fire poker for camping. This one was a little more expensive, but build quality seems superior and it was not ridiculously priced. Haven't had a chance to use yet, but look forward to it. I would assume you get what you pay for.

I was very surprised with how sturdy and well made this fire poker is for such a great price. I have had several fire pokers in the past and most of them were poorly constructed and flimsy. I would definitely buy this again.

The blower is great. Long enough, tight enough. But the hook is awkward. Should be closer to the end.
