BetterBody Foods Organic Cacao Powder 16 Oz, Unsweetened for Baking, Cocoa

I bought this organic cacao powder because I've been trying to incorporate more wholesome, nutrient-rich ingredients into my daily diet, and it has quickly become one of my favorites. The first thing I noticed was the flavor. It has a rich, deep, authentic cacao taste that's much more intense than regular cocoa powder. Since it's unsweetened, you get the pure flavor of cacao without any artificial sweetness or aftertaste. I mainly use it as a supplement in my daily smoothies, but it's also fantastic in oatmeal, yogurt, healthy desserts, and homemade baking. It blends smoothly and gives everything a delicious chocolate flavor without overpowering the other ingredients. I also appreciate that it's organic, non-GMO, and made with simple ingredients. The bag lasts a long time, especially since you don't need a large amount to get great flavor. If you're looking for a high-quality cacao powder with a rich, authentic taste for smoothies, baking, or healthy recipes, I definitely recommend this one. I'll absolutely keep buying it.

I’ve used a lot of cacao powders. Cacao is one of the highest plant-based sources of magnesium. This one stands out for its smooth flavor and fine texture. It's not as dark as some, but it blends well in everything from protein shakes to homemade hot chocolate without clumping or leaving gritty bits. I use cacao in my coffee every morning and so does everyone in my household. The taste is bold and deep but not bitter, which is great when I want to skip added sugar. I also use it for baking, and it’s been perfect for organic muffins, brownies, chocolate yogurt frozen treats, and even homemade granola bars. This large bag lasts a long time. We usually go through 3 cacao powder bags this size a month, though. LOL. Price-wise, it is a less than the other's we get. So if you want a budget-friendly option - this would be it. It’s certified organic, which is a must for me, and the quality is consistent with each scoop. Note: I haven't delved into all the sourcing data for certification copies like I have with others. Pros: Smooth, bold flavor Organic and gluten-free Versatile in both drinks and baking Tip: Try mixing a tablespoon with farm fresh organic goat's milk, local raw honey, and a mixture of nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon, and clove for a quick healthy treat with an autumn/winter vibe.

The best!!! Great quality, taste like dark chocolate, easy on my sensitive stomach. Highly recommend!

This is great organic cacao powder, nice quality, and has a lovely authentic chocolate flavor. It’s ground very fine, smooth and not gritty, and dissolves into hot or cold liquids very easily, no clumping. I’ve used it in smoothies, for baking, and for hot chocolate, and the chocolate taste is lovely and deep and rich but not bitter or cloying at all. The 16 ounce bag is packaged well, with a zip closure for easy resealing, and I love that it’s certified organic, non-GMO, gluten-free, and fits nicely into my dietary needs. The ingredients are simple enough—just pure cacao; there are no sugars, fillers or strange ingredients, just cacao. It dissolves nicely in my morning protein shakes, and it does lend that genuine chocolate flavor to brownies and muffins without needing as much sugar to be tasty. The color is a very nice dark brown, indicating a quality cacao, and it smells pleasantly chocolatey when you open the bag. Overall this is a good amount of product for the price, and lasts me a reasonable time with frequent use. Recommended if you’re looking for a good cacao for healthy recipes or baking!

Pros: Rich, Intense Flavor: This cacao provides a deep, dark chocolate profile that is much more complex and robust than standard Dutch-processed cocoa powder. Nutrient Dense: Being raw and organic, it retains high levels of antioxidant flavonoids, magnesium, and iron that are often lost during high-heat processing. Versatile Ingredient: It works perfectly as a 1-to-1 substitute for cocoa powder in recipes, adding a "superfood" boost to everything from oatmeal to brownies. Clean Label: It is non-GMO, gluten-free, and contains no added sugars or artificial fillers. Cons: Bitter Profile: Because it is unsweetened and raw, it has a natural bitterness that might be surprising if you are used to sugary chocolate mixes. Resealable Bag Issues: Like many powder pouches, the zipper seal can sometimes get clogged with fine powder, making it tricky to close tightly. Detailed Performance & Usage I switched to BetterBody Foods Organic Cacao specifically to find a healthier way to satisfy my chocolate cravings while boosting my intake of magnesium and antioxidants. The difference in taste is immediately noticeable; it has a fruity, slightly acidic undertone that pairs beautifully with natural sweeteners like maple syrup or mashed bananas. I use this primarily in my morning protein shakes and "overnight oats." It dissolves relatively well in cold liquids if you use a blender or shaker bottle, though it can clump slightly if just stirred with a spoon. For baking, it produces a very dark, professional-looking result. It’s a high-value pantry staple because a little goes a long way—the 16 oz bag easily lasts me a month with daily use. Final Verdict: An essential for health-conscious chocolate lovers. It offers a premium, nutrient-rich experience at a very reasonable price point compared to boutique health store brands

Best cacao powder I've seen in a long time. It tastes wonderful in my oatmeal! It's wonderful! Keep this on the shelf! Has antioxidants and everything else I want without all the stuff I don't want. The less processing the better except for cleaning.

I use this as an addition to my birthday cake flavored morning shakes. 2 heaping tablespoons of this cacao powder is enough to add great flavor to a whole container of my shake. It does take a minute to mix in because the powder is so light but once done, it's great.

This Cacao is the best I have ever had; it is pure and is not Dutch processed. For those that are not sure an easy tool: (ask Rufus - No, the BetterBody Foods Organic Cacao Powder you currently have is NOT Dutch processed! As confirmed by the manufacturer and customers, it's natural, non-alkalized cacao that retains its natural acidity and antioxidants. to maintain the highest of nutrients.) Also, if Dutch processed there will be additional ingredients listed as the alkalizing agent. I read through the reviews and was disappointed in seeing so many bad reviews due to the California Prop 65 Warning. This is a subject that drives me batty. This is one that people should educate themselves on before throwing out items or giving them bad reviews. Your lack of knowledge may prevent someone from purchasing a completely good product due to their lack of knowledge and listening to you. To all of you freaking out about the California Proposition 65 warning, you can chill out, and here is why: Please take a moment to read about the proposition and what it was intend to be and what it actually ended up being. This was passed in California in 1986 with a short list of chemicals such as lead, arsenic, cadmium and mercury. Since then, the list has grown to over 900 chemicals to include naturally occurring substances. Us Californians are pretty zealous without thinking of the consequences. If this company chose to not sell/deliver to California, you would be buying the same product without the warning, how's that for knowing your product is safe where you live? Sorry to let you know that so, so many products you purchase/consume are not sold in California and you just don’t get the “warning” required to sell here. Analytical technology has advanced to a level of such precision that it is now possible to find traces of toxic heavy metals in virtually all foods and beverages. They cannot be avoided. They will be in foods bought at the market and consumed at home; in foods consumed at restaurants, even in vegetables you grow at home. Just as these heavy metals are present in foods, they are consequently found in supplements made of natural materials, whether from plants or animals. If you are trashing any of these you may as well give up everything, including eating and breathing. To put it in perspective, the "no significant risk level" is defined as the level of exposure that would result in not more than one excess case of cancer in 100,000 individuals exposed to the chemical over a 70-year lifetime. In other words, a person exposed to the chemical for 70 years would not have more than a 1 in 100,000 increased chance of developing cancer as a result of the exposure. We will all be lucky to get to 70 without some kind of exposure. Watch out for your organic garden in your backyard just off the freeway, or even in the country where there is moving air. Another portion of the proposition you are putting faith in is, "A Way Out". Government agencies and employers with less than 10 employees are exempt, therefore you may be consuming the same thing from a company with a head honcho and 8 employees. The company with few employees may not keep to the same standards (cleanliness, etc.) as the one that has to put the label on. Not to excite the scared but here are some items with lead exposure with just 4 ounces, you may or may not recognize, shrimp 23.80 mcg, those lovely crispy brussels sprouts 7.9 mcg, and a really good one, Italian salad dressing, 12.20. I don't see those warnings at Olive Garden and I love their salad dressing on the never-ending salad and breadsticks. Wonder how much the breadsticks add? Food categories with the highest frequency of detectable lead include meat, especially offal, organ meats and wild game, shellfish (particularly bivalves), cocoa (what you are reading this review over and is deemed healthy), tea, cereal grains and products, and vegetables. I am sorry to inform you, any bag of cocoa should have the warning if basing it on the California requirement. So, buttercups, I hope I have convinced you to pull the bags out of the trash and use any product with the warning for the reasons you purchased them for, or at least read before you react. To be kind to this seller you could even delete your bad reviews aimed at their diligent requirement to post, as there is nothing wrong with their product because of the label. As a side note, I just received a bra I ordered with the same Prop 65 warring on the label. My nippies are in danger, not!

Really delicious cacao, and at a very reasonable price compared to others.
