Well made and stable, but not for huge pens
I have a a couple of nice custom pens (average length) that I placed into each one of these (I bought two). They look nice, are well-made and they are not crazy priced. Good for having a nice place to store your pen on the desk (I hate those cup-things with a bundle of pens in them). Really nice simple holder for a single pen.

Great for Laser Engraving
These are a good gift, the black anodized coating is able to be engraved with a diode laser, and it looks very clean with just one pass. Good weight that holds a pen up nice and makes for a cool desk decoration.

Loose fit for fountain pens
For fountain pens it is kind of shallow and has a very loose fit. The pens wobble around in this holder. The nice thing is the weight is nice. I decided to use it for toothpicks and tweezers etc and not pens or pencils.

Pen stand perfection
This pen stand feels solid and holds the pen in a classy way. It matches perfectly with my desk theme of black and silver. It keeps my nice pen handy to be right where I need it. I love the black body and the sharp silver chamfer in the aluminum. It matches the iMac design of the rest of my office perfectly. The price is right as well.

It weights 96.5g and is perfect for my heavy fountain pen
It was a choice between this stand and the 3 Pieces Ceramic Pen Stand Single Pen Holder. I liked the design of this metal one a bit better and was only concerned about the weight.The listing for the ceramic older listed the weight at 90g, but the listing for this metal one didn't specify it clearly.As it turns out, my initial concerns about the weight of the metal pen stand were unfounded. Weighing in at 96.5g, it is slightly heavier than the ceramic stand, which adds to its stability, making it an even better choice.
