This book is powerful. It is not a typical marriage communication skills book. Be prepared to get right with God first then get right with your spouse. This study caused us to examine our own behaviors first, confess and repent. It demonstrates the model Jesus showed with His sacrificial love for us and how we can demonstrate that on a daily basis with our spouse. Definitely a must read for newly married and long-time married couples.

This is definitely a book that I will have to go over a few times with my wife. We will have to do some deep thinking and some changes in our running the race to Christ. I enjoyed the book thoroughly and with my wife we will make sure to find ways to have the Lord Jesus as the FIRST in our lives.

My bride and I celebrated our 26th anniversary by traveling together for a week and reading this book. What a refreshing and encouraging perspective! Even after a year, we are still applying the truths Francis shared. In fact, we've started re-reading the book on our weekly dates to help us remember and go deeper.

This coupled with the accompanying video series was amazing for my wife and me! Loved every second of it, gonna read it again as a couple actually!

Loving this book.

I use this as a tool for pre-marriage counselling, we encourage the couples to use this to study and pray together before and AFTER the marriage. We love the spiritual emphasis Francis Chan gives to couples.
