Why do all of these contain flaxseed, carrots, and other ingredients that cats would never eat in the wild?

Hi there! My name is Cait and I work with Nature's Variety. We craft our recipes to be as close to our pet's natural diets as possible. Our Instinct Original can recipes are all 95% meat and organ meat, with 5% fruits, vegetables and other wholesome ingredients. Just like in the wild, this recipe is mostly animal proteins giving cats the amino acids they need to truly thrive. The other 5% (flaxseed and carrots included) represents what would be found in the prey's stomach in the wild, giving cats some of the essential nutrition they need. That being said, while we try to keep our recipes as close to our pets' natural diets as possible, we also need to keep our recipes compliant with the AAFCO nutrient profiles and regulations. my cat is over weight, which can product would be best for him to loose weight? also low calorie/no gravies.

Going for low carb foods are a good start. Avoid foods with gravy or fillers like soy, wheat, rice, and potato. Wet foods are great for a cat, and their bodies need the moisture. Chewy has American Journey canned food which is a good quality for the price, but avoid foods with fish in them.

All the nature's variety wet cat food instinct products list 'dried kelp' in the ingredients, isn't this basically what carrageenan is? =/

I suppose it's the raw form of seaweed, rather than the processed extraction. My cat has IBD and tolerates this food very well.
