why do the have a hole in the middle ?

Stove burners frequently have holes in the middle which serve as oven vents. I think the oven vents help maintain even oven temp. The aluminium liners have holes so the oven vents are not blocked.

Do they fit kenmore electric stoves ?

I believe they are designed to fit all electric stoves, I don't have a Kenmore, but my neighbor, dose and they fit fine
