Pets are Kids Dog Dental Spray with Mint Formula Water Additive, 8oz

Reason for purchase: my little dogs breath smelled liked death freshly warmed over and she loves to lay with her head on your shoulder. Background: We have tried several things from Tropiclean water additive or gel and recently we have been using a foam style one (forgot the brand). Needless to say the dogs drink less water with the additive and after the bottle of gel was used up we noticed little to no difference with Plaque and bad breathe on our Pomeranian. The Australian Shepherd is still in good shape. Both the foam and gel where used during their nightly teeth brushing. The item: The Premium Pet Dental Spray after 4 weeks is working well. Both of our dogs love to have it sprayed on their teeth. The fact that they do not fight it like the foam stuff has been a real plus for us. Although the spray itself has a good smell, I check their breath a few hours later before they eat. This is where I have noticed that after the first 2 the small dog’s breath was not 100% repulsive. That itself is am improvement. Over all I would say the little dog breath is bad but not horrible anymore. I cannot say much for the plaque portion yet as it seems too early to notice a real improvement. With two sprays sessions a day (2 sprays per side and one up front) the bottom seems it will last for a few months. Note: No solution works without a routine. It takes less than 3 minutes day to tend to our dogs teeth and we often combined it with our dental cleaning time. No I do not use my toothbrush… I use the wife’s ;) Final verdict: I would recommend giving this a try for a few weeks and see how your pets like it and your nose.

UPDATE: I’ve changed my star rating to 5 stars, I have had a lovely interaction with the company owners who reached out to me. I never had an intention of describing the product as substandard, it certainly is not. I will say that for those folks implying that the product might be unsafe I feel are unjustified in saying so. Some dogs, like my one dog who had an upset tummy when I introduced this spray, are simply sensitive (I know he is!) and I cannot fault the product IN THE LEAST. This is a lovely company, and my older dog who really needed some extra help with dental care LOVES this spray, with zero ill effect. Original post: And I’ve only given it three stars because it seems to be ok for some dogs and not for others. I read many of the reviews before I bought this, and I was more intent on helping my 13 year old dog with her dental health but my 2 year old dog would also benefit. Quite a few people said their dogs became ill when they started using the spray. My 13 year old dog has always had a pretty strong stomach but the 2 year old has ALWAYS been super sensitive. I had been putting the spray in their water and also spraying directly into my older dog’s mouth. She seems ok with it, doesn’t seem bothered by the taste, doesn’t get sick and she tolerates me spraying her gums. I don’t spray the younger dog’s mouth, he was only drinking it. He began vomiting occasionally one I had introduced the spray. In fairness, it may have been coincidental, he may have got into something else that made him ill (we live rurally, there’s lots of animals scat around which we can’t stop him from getting into which makes him sick sometimes) and other things to upset his tummy. But he did behave, once I started administering the spray in their water, like he felt poorly. He became kind of sheepish and sedate... a little pathetic like he didn’t feel great, and then the vomiting started. I stopped adding the spray to the water and he hasn’t had any problems. I don’t have the heart to add it again to see if it is indeed caused by the spray, so in fairness I cannot day for absolute certain that this is what the problem was. But my older dog keeps getting hers directly and she’s great. It smells minty, so I’m surprised she likes it, but there seem to be no complaints! Her old lady breath has *kind of* improved. I see that this company is super responsive to customers, and that they are so deeply involved with seeing to the needs of their customers have me the confidence to buy the spray. I would totally recommend it knowing you’re in good hands, I would only caution that there’s a chance it’s just not for everyone’s sensitive tummy which is just a fact of life. Just like not all dog foods go down easily for some doggies, it would make sense that additives might also upset their innards. Thanks guys for developing this spray!

Along with daily brushing, Premium Pet Dental Spray helps to keep my dog's breath fresh and reduce build up on her teeth. While it seems to work well, my dog doesn't like the flavor all that much.

If you can get it sprayed on the animals teeth, it seems to clean the teeth!!! I keep trying to spray it in but my dogs mouth but he really fights me! ! It works!!

My two pitbull puppies ( 3 months old Today actually) acclimated literally over night to this in their water. One of them took a little longer than the other, but both are drinking it. Their breath smells nice and minty. Like a minty puppy breath smell lol. It’s nice. I recommend this product, and will be purchasing again. Edit: been buying this stuff for 2 years. They’ve changed the way it smells (I don’t know why it just doesn’t smell the same as it used to) and they are getting cheaper and cheaper with these spray bottles every year. The product works, but I have to spray these bottles like 40 times where I used to have to spray it like 5-10 times. I’m lowering my review to a 3 because I feel like I’m paying the same price for less quality. Unacceptable. What are you guys saving, $.001 per bottle? We’re paying $16 for this stuff, you can put the original spray heads back on.

I have a chi mix dog that I adopted that had come from a hoarding situation. Poor Inky has so much tarter on his teeth, probably due to cheap dog food he was fed in the past. His teeth obviously hurt because he would take his time eating and I did see him lose one tooth in the past. I bought this product hoping it would help and it is working. His upper canine teeth were completly covered in thick tarter. At first Inky didn't like having his mouth squirted but after about 3 days he sat still for it. I guess it tastes nice to him. About 2 weeks ago about half of the tarter broke off of one of his more crusted canines and revealed a nice white tooth. The rest of the tarter is beginning to soften and will probably break off in time too. His other teeth which also have lots of tarter are beginning to look whiter too. Inky has A LOT of tarter so he still has a long way to go to having nice white tarter free teeth but this works. It softens the tarter and when he eats now he doesn't seem to be in much pain chewing like before. If you expect it to work in a day or two, it doesn't work that fast but if you have a dog like mine that has years of tarter buildup on his teeth due to neglect this product is doing the job without hurting my little rescue that I adopted. The two photos are him when I first got him sitting on the outside bench and the other is after I've had him for a year and working to clean up his teeth with this product.

Hello and that you for making fabulous products. We have a small animal rescue and rescue about 100 animals a year we specialize in high abuse situations and prosecution of offenders. When we rescue, most times the dogs teeth are terrible. We have tried your product, purchased through Amazon for a few weeks now and are thrilled with the results. We use the Premium Pet Dental Spray in the water and in mouths. The dogs like it and the huge upside is that it softens the hard tarter and it flakes off without anesthesia and a long dental at the vet. We are truly impressed. 5 days in the water and on guns and I could take my thumb nail and take tarter off, this spray is a game changer I have taken a few photos of Wolfgang, our sweet dachshund who recently had back surgery for a herniated disc at UT Medical Vet Hospital in Knoxville Tennessee. He of course is a rescue, and we adore him. We have 58 of our own animals (chickens, tortoises, and our nine dogs), we are truly blessed. Your oatmeal shampoo helps with angry itchy skin and we go through it quickly and is our favorite. Thank you again for the natural, USA resourced, and fine products you make, sure makes what we do a lot easier on us and the animals we serve.

it says that it is easy to use because you can just spray it directly on your dogs' gums. WELL let me tell you, if your dog hasn't ever had something sprayed in their mouth before, there is a chance they won't want something sprayed in their mouth in the future. I have unlocked new trauma for both of my little furbabes so I am unable to spray them without them wanting to scurry away! To solve this, I spray some on a cotton round and rub it against their gums. This has worked so far? I have one senior dog so I'm not sure her breath can ever be fully alleviated but it does smell nice for 5 minutes. I haven't tried having them drink it. They drink from the same water bowl so it would be hard to even out the solution for the both of them. It probably doesn't matter but I don't like the thought of them ingesting more than they need to. I can't find any other mouth wash for dogs that you don't have to put in water so I went with it. I'll probably be purchasing again.
