Most toddler mattress have a plastic coating although convenient for a potty training toddler I can only imagine how uncomfortably cold it is sleeping on one in winter. Although I use an organic cotton fltted sheet it seemed like my little one just wasn't comfortable and after reading so many reviews it seems like it's a common problem with toddler beds so I wanted to find a more comfortable solution. I love and appreciate that this cover is 100% cotton. It provides a great amount of padding, it's soft, not thin and has some good weight. My son seems to be sleeping better now. I do believe it helps to keep the bed warmer. He doesn't sleep directly on the pad, I do use a fitted sheet over and it fits well. I washed it before use on gentle and I let it air dry.

Thicker than the polyester options in the stores, including other Sealy products. Nice and soft, very comfortable feel, good quality. Very satisfied.

The idea of using a mattress protector with layers of plastic made me uncomfortable, so I'm glad I found this. It is a bit pricey, but I felt like it was worth it for the peace of mind it gives me. Very snug fit, but not terribly difficult to put on the mattress. Kiddo isn't here yet, so I don't know how well it will work, but it's very soft, cozy, and thick, so I have confidence it will do the job. Washed easy and dried over night on our drying rack.

I searched high and low for a mattress pad that did not contain any plastics or waterproof treatment. I do NOT want my babies to breathe chemicals all night while they sleep. And frankly, since every crib mattress is covered in plastic, what is the point of a waterproof pad anyway? We have gone to great lengths here to keep all of these chemicals away from our babies including a special cover for the mattress (to keep off-gasses away) and a wonderful, thick wool topper, which is what I wanted to cover. We just slip some wool puddle-pads in between the topper and the mattress pad to keep the topper from getting wet and everything is fine. I highly recommend this product over ANY waterproof pad out there.

I bought two of these after reading other reviews concerning how these don't have the nasty plastic backing. And they don't. They don't have the awful plastic smell when they arrive and fit the crib mattress very well. They've been washed a handful of times and while they seem to stand up to the washings/don't fall apart by any means, I do feel that the padding has become matted. As a caveat, I have to wash all bedding in hot hot water to kill dust mites, but then I only pop them in the dryer for about 10 minutes before air drying. I will continue to use the two I have, but I will probably try another brand when I need to replace them just to see if I can get a fluffier padding. One final caveat: these are for my 20mos son. So I'm not worried about suffocating him with thick padding. And the mattress we have is plastic covered foam (though green guard certified so the plastic does not release harmful chemicals) so i don't need waterproofing on top of waterproofing. My son has definitely stopped waking up sweaty once I switched to these and he was no longer sleeping on plastic on top of plastic. overall, I would recommend these for not having plastic and standing up to washing for the price, but might suggest comparing with other brands as well.

Having spent a lot of money to buy a top of the line mattress for my 8 month old (Colgate Classic), I was dismayed at how much he absolutely hated sleeping in it. He would toss and turn for about 5 minutes, after which he would cry bitterly and I had no choice but to have him sleep with me in my bed. After doing a lot of research and looking at other reviews on Amazon, I decided to give the Sealy mattress pad a shot - all I can say is, Thank you Sealy. It is wonderfully soft, totally water-proof, fits all standard crib mattresses perfectly (without making it hard for the mattress cover to go on) and is easy to change and wash. The baby took to it after a little bit of tossing and turning and I am a happy camper. I highly recommend this product.

My baby is 6 months old. Maybe there will come a time where I will need waterproofing properties, but so far, he's leaked once and it only reached the top sheet. I love that it's all cotton, breathable, and I don't have to worry about him breathing weird waterproof backings. I do wish it was sized bigger, so I could be less careful with it and stick it in the drier - that's my only complaint!

Absolutely love this. So sort. We have a waterproof mattress but it's extremely firm. My baby sleeps so much better with this added!!

Disappointed. Plastic package of the pad came crushed and dirty and pad was bundled up in package. Makes one wonder if the product was previously opened and sent back.
