Gempler's Rust Converter (1 Quart)

Applied per instructions. Works fantastic. I used on yard tractor trailer that had sat out in the weather over 40 years. Turned black and was easy to paint over.

Easy to apply. Dries in less than an 30 minutes. Can reapply in less than 20 minutes. Two coats does the job, changing the rust to a black coat.The quart will probable do more than 5 sq/ft - double coat. My surface was strong. Badly pitted, rusted through metal would require rebuilding the metal. This only makes the metal paintable. It does not make it stronger.I used a bronze wire brush to prep, blew of the flakes and dust then applied it with a cheap bristle brush. Its thick consistency made it easy to control.Priming was easy. I can't think of anything I did not like about it. I have used similar products over a period of 40 years. This tops my list for rust preventive/sealing products.

I ordered this on 2018. I was redoing my laundry room sink plumbing from when the house was built in 1956. All the pipes, faucets, etc. were rusted. I followed the instructions on bottle and let it rip. Now I'm writing the real review about the product. I did not paint over the remover. It's on an area that's damp from washing cat dishes everyday. Their is no rust to be found anywhere that this product was used. I'm so happy because I'm getting ready to work on my tractor mower section that has rust from years of parked outside my neighbors house for junk and they gave it to me. It works like new after a new carburetor. Bracket on mower broke off at welds, my fault, so I'm going to rid all the rust away with the awesome product. It should still be good since I never opened bottle since 2018. Wish me luck and I highly recommend this product for simple reason, it works!

There are a lot of products out there dealing with rust and once upon a time I had a similar product as this purchase but couldn't find it any longer. Happily, I came across this amazing RUST CONVERTER and I can only applaud this product as doing exactly as advertised. I'm presently working on a High-End house which needs High-End maintenance but previous owners of the house have been quite negligent in keeping up with it. With the GEMPLER'S Rust Converter I have been able to convert many of the rusted areas to the black with the chemical process that occurs. I've applied it to rusted paint top cans, stainless steel hinges, exterior electrical boxes, overhang metal support brackets and many other items with great success. Incidentally, this magnificent house, built in 1991 is right on the beach and gets pummelled by the salt air and water constantly. Thank goodness I finally found the Gempler's Rust Converter. I highly recommend it.

Have been using this product for at least 20 years on many projects, some looked hopeless but this converter saves the day. from rusty drill pipe, any type tool, tractor buckets, butane tanks, just run a steel brush over it then i usually brush off the dust thats left or not, then a coat of this, depending of the weather, another coat a few hours or a day later and the rust will never reappear, anything looks good with just the black coating but i have painted over it, used bed liner over it all with great success. i have never used the other products but i dont see how anything could work any better or be any easier to use. a quart will go a long long way too.

Just order my second bottle. I wanted to test it first before purchasing the full amount.I am stripping a black metal fence. It is 14 years old and has several rust spots. I did use a wire brush on my angle grinder so knock off loose paint and to remove any lose rust. I am about halfway through the first bottle and I have done maybe 40 ft of fence so far. It seems to work very well. In fact the worse the rust was (within reason) the better the product performed. I have some areas very superficial rust. In these areas it did not turn completely black. In areas where the rust is more pronounced, it change the rust to a hard black coating.It goes on easily. I used a small paint pan and a 1 inch brush for my application. It is about the consistency of say Almond milk. It will drip, but it if you don't load up your brush too much I did not have much of a dripping problem. Time will tell how long it lasts, but my first impression is very good. I will come back and update this review should it's longer term performance be subpar.
