Monoprice Speaker Volume Controller - Rotary Type, 100 Watts Per Channel, 4-16 Ohms, Single Gang, White

I have three of these. Two are installed side by side in a double-gang wall plate controlling two pairs of ceiling and wall speakers and a third 108240 outdoor model for porch speakers. They have been installed for 18 months with no issues at all. We use them practically every day. I have an AppleTV dedicated specifically for listening to music connected to an always-on receiver/amplifier. They work great for adjusting the audio level for different rooms as we move around. I have heard no distortion or buzzing from the lowest level dinner music to full-blast party bumping. I have to question whether the people having issues are installing them properly? Have to make sure the wires are twisted perfectly and no stray strand is able to touch the adjacent connector. It takes some doing getting them pushed back into the wall with 4 wires coming off of each one without pinching. I am buying another for a fourth zone.

Bought this for my patio speakers. Easy to install and fit in a standard single gang opening. I was lucky that my builder was smart enough not to put an old work box in the opening for where they ran my speaker cable wires. The back components can be deeper then a standard old work box will have room for. If possible you can try to take out the box as long as you don't have any power cables.

New review...bumped down a couple notches due to the following. This unit is huge. It takes up an entire single full depth box. I had to mound in an orange low voltage no back wall receptacle but it barely fit width wise. Also the color is more off white than the neighboring true white Decora switches and receptacles. First review below...Great product! Easy install, especially with the removable connectors. Detents are nicely noticeable and provide subtle detent feeling as you enter/pass each one, with no noise accompanying. Monoprice products have never let me down!

I was getting poor results with a simple pot, in an L-pad circuit. The Monoprice volume control works perfectly, as it includes transformer isolation/coupling. Plus, the connection terminals are very easy to use, especially for large gauge speaker wire that I am using. I have no comment regarding wall mount installation, as this unit will be a stand-alone, mounted in a custom project box. It was a simple task, to remove the wall mount hardware, to be able to mount in said box. I am most pleased with this unit, as it completely fits my needs, at a very affordable cost.

I hear a faint rattle in the wall when music is playing. If you leave music playing, but turn volume Knob all the way down you can hear an intermittent vibration coming from this unit plain as day. Very annoying. It's installed correctly and mounted securely in an electrical box. Deal-breaker for me. I'll be ordering a different brand replacement Besides the awful death rattle, it works well. I couldn't tell any difference in volume or quality of sound coming from the speakers. It is a very tight fit in a standard electrical box, but I had no problems with installation. I just can't get past the rattle. It's very audible and very annoying

Hooking up the speaker and source wires can be a little tricky, but the unit seems to be well built and the dial works smoothly with perfect volume increments. If you plan on installing this using a gang box, go out an buy a blue plastic electrical box which are deeper and wider and will allow a perfect fit.

Easily controls volume of my backyard speakers from the wall. Color of knob is a bit off more bright white but I can live with it. Easy to connect wires to rear of unit and fits perfectly inside wall. Does what its supposed to do.

I’ve had pretty good luck with these. The only issues are that the jumper to tell it how many speakers are connected is very small. The other issue I had was one of the plate screws would not screw in, I had to get different screws and then it worked great.

Be carefull, this is not intendes to be used in a regular electrical box (they won't fit in), it is meant to be used in a low voltage box, which is bigger. I got a plastic electrical box at home depot and it is perfect. I got another brand before that ( which burned out because of a lower wattage handeling) and this one has a better range of volume control ( the other brand got the volume down too fast when you rotate the knob, so 1/3 of the rotation was useless as the volume was 0 ) would buy again this one for sure

プリメインアンプに良くあるスピーカー端子AとBで、Bの音量バランスだけを別に調整したい場合に使えます（もちろんAでも可）。接続はB系統のスピーカーケーブルLRを商品のインプットLRに繋ぎ、アウトプットLRをスピーカーに繋ぎます（つまり4本を入れて4本出すスステレオ音声対応）。無段階では無く12段階で音量調整ができます。ほぼ無音に近い極小音からアンプ出力のままの音量までの12段階です。 私は4Ωのスピーカーを繋ぎテスターで計りましたが、12段階の何処でもインピーダンス4Ωはほぼ一定で変動することありませんでした。実際にアンプに接続し20時間以上使用していますがアンプと本機ともに異常発熱など発生せず今の所問題ありません。また、別途電源などは不要です。 本機はコンセントプレートなどの電工関係の規格で、壁に埋め込む物ですが別にケースなどに納めれば良いかと思います。（未だ作っておらず、むき出しですが、、、）ケースサイズは内法で100×100×50ミリ位が最小サイズと思います。 全面の白いプレートは写真でコンセントプレート全体のサイズっぽいですが、手元に届いたのは3つ口コンセント部分のサイズでした。 リスニングポイントの直ぐ後ろの小型スピーカーでの使用ですが、音質的に特別気になるほどの劣化はないと感じています。 これのお陰で映画などを見るときに4スピーカーで定位の前後を調整出来て楽しめています。 （未だにサラウンド環境すらない昭和のオーディオ使用者より） 追記、プレートカバーも付属してました。（私は使わないので箱に取り残されてました、、、）

Great item. Installed this in our bathroom to control an in ceiling speaker above our bathtub. It is currently hooked up to a mono price speaker selector. It is doing exactly what I need it to do. Great buy.

Works fantastic, bought 9 of them for celling mounted speakers and it does the job well, however one of them was missing the little green clip connectors for the speaker wires, but some quick soldering solved that issue.
