I don’t normally right reviews but this saw? Stop wondering and buy it now!!
Okay so. When I bought this, so cheap... coming from japan.. I had low expectations, but the reviews convinced me to give it a try. Firstly, well made saw, like.. wow. It’s sturdy but slightly flexible for the cuts needed. You can cut slight curves with this saw if you use it careful. For the length and the thin blade? I haven’t had any trouble with any bends, nothing loose. I mean,, it’s super sharp. Cuts incredibly well. I’ve used it for wood mainly. It’ll cut Plastic decently too! But not really it’s purpose. I bought this mainly for fret work but I’ve come to use this for legit everything.

Best saw I had ever bought when I picked it up
This leaves exceptionally fine, straight, consistent cuts. The blade has lost several teeth at this point, but it still is quite sharp. I have since moved over to a Ryoba, which gives me both the cross and rip cutting options I needed. Not as steady, but similarly fine and consistent. Highly recommended for joinery. Be gentle and feel your way through the cuts and this should last longer than it did for me when I was just starting.

Excellent Joinery Saw
I have the Suizan rip saw that I use for dovetails and other joinery. It works so well that I decided to get the cross cut saw. I have a full compliment of western saws and find myself using the Suizan saws most often. The crosscut like the rip tracks well with a fine kerf and leaves a smooth finish right off the saw. It's hard to imagine how a more expensive saw could be any better.

Excellent Product
Light weight, stable and sturdy saw for dovetails. Very sharp, easy to handle and accurate. I love this saw and recommend it. My only caveat to anyone buying it is that you may want to add a better grip. I am wrapping the bare beechwood handle on mine with some baseball bat grip tape, but this is my personal preference and not necessary to use this nearly flawless 9-1/2 inch saw.

A great saw and a great price
I have used many of the Gyokucho saws but have wanted to try the Suizan saw for a while. It's a great saw for the money. It's a crosscut saw even though it says that it's for dovetails. It's a bit slow cutting for rip cuts used when dovetailing but it works great. For crosscuts, it's great and very easy to work. I also like the non-wrapped handle as I find I have more grip. Overall it's a great universal saw.

Not good as a fret saw. Otherwise a great saw
This saw comes up as a top search result when searching for a fret slotting saw. I bought one and cut some fret slots, but they end up being too narrow to accept the fret tang. This is unfortunate because this is a great saw. It is super sharp and cuts well, and the Japanese style help you cut straighter on the pull stroke. So even though the documentation says it is a .020” kerf, it is actually more like .010” and not suitable for fret slots.

Best handsaw ever
Lost my woodshop years ago due to wifes illness. I still enjoy wood working on a limited basis but with the suizan pull saw i am able to cut fine cuts and even up to 2 by 10's with ease. Thanks suizan for making such a affordable saw that cuts amazing.every woodworker or tradesman should own this fantastic handsaw.

It cuts clean, is very sharp and does the job.
There was nothing to dislike, this hand saw cuts clean, smooth and quick with a very narrow kerk. I highly recomend this tool. I have now had this hand saw for over two months and use it as my go to hand saw over all of my other saws as it is by far the best hand saw I have ever used. Im amazed at how sharp and fast it cuts. As I have said, it is by far the best hand saw I have ever used.

Este serrucho japonés hace unos cortes muy finos, además por la costilla que tiene no permite que el corte se desvíe. Se los recomiendo

Its my eighth suizan saw. Its not a dovetail saw. Yes you can cut dovetails with but it has cross blade so your dovetails will be slow and chances of a messup. I recommend it for cross cutting wood. I use it to cut kumiko !!
