i’m just getting started with home recording. i have a macbook and a steinberg ur22c audio interface. what is the optimal way to connect these?

The Iloud has 2 types of input: Rca or 3.5 stereo jack. In order to connect the monitors with your interface you will need to buy an additional, 2x RCA Male to 2x 6.3mm Jack Mono, audio cable. Connect the 6.3 mm jacks to the interface main outputs (at the back) and the Rca to Iloud monitors. Hope it helps.

I want to play my Nord keyboard, via the 1/8th Jack input and my iPhone, via Bluetooth, at the same time… is this possible?

Yes. I would ask on the ikmultimedia forum but from what I can see and find it looks like 2 WIRED inputs (Jack and RCA) on the iloud speakers cannot be used simultaneously. Regarding Bluetooth, I tried it myself using my samsung phone via bluetooth and 1/8 jack input from my mixing desk simultaneously. I could play drums though the desk and hear both the drums and the phone song playing at the same time through the speakers.

Following on from previous question I saw some reviews mention a poor power supply causing noise and something about replacing it with an “ifi”?

No noise from mine. These are the best kept secret of small budget speakers. I am a professional dubbing mixer. I use these day in day out. I’ve been luckily enough to mix on some of the best monitor’s money can buy. I would suggest forget following the the big expensive names and try these. At the end of the day,trust your own ears. If things don’t sound right. They are probably not right Always compare with programme you Know is correct. Always use several listening options. A good set of headphones and these monitors, you can’t fail.
