Although I already have wood and stainless steel interchangeable needles, I couldn't resist trying out these new copper ones from Lykke. I know there is no clinical evidence that copper has health benefits but I do find these needles very soothing to knit with. They have a bit of a grip to them, similar to bamboo needles, which makes them a good choice for slippery yarns. The cables are vinyl and do arrive with a pretty tight curl but a little steam straightens them out and they have swivel at the joins to the needles so they are very twist free. The case these needles come in is the highest quality of any of my interchangeable sets I own. It is sturdy with both a snap pocket and and a zippered one. All of the accents are in copper.

I have knitted several different projects with these needles now, and I’m delighted with them. It is true, as others have commented, they do come somewhat rough, almost as though they have burrs on them. You can’t really call the needles “rough” or the issue “burrs”, but to be honest, for what you pay for this set, I think it is realistic to expect them to be smoother than they are. The more you use them, the more they smooth up, thankfully.They are faster and smoother than Clover bamboo, by far, but not quite as slick as Addi turbos. I think the point is perfect for not shredding my yarn, or hurting my fingers when I have to push the needle through a tight stitch.Every experienced knitter wants to know about the join— it’s wonderful; very rarely do I have a reason to remember it’s there. I do wish the cable had less memory than it does, and I’m planning to try Lantern Moon’s interchangeable swivel cables with these, but the cables that come with the set are more than tolerable. They are more pliable than Clover bamboo cables, but slightly less pliable than Addi Turbo cables. I do NOT like any memory, my cables, at all, so those who, like some rigidity to shape and hold, their projects, may be happier with these cables than I am.These needles are heavier than bamboo, or Addi Turbos. There has been a couple projects in which I selected other needles, that were lighter, on the days my arthritic hands are fatigued.For some projects, I haven’t even had to use the key to lock the cables— they stay very well with the needles. For projects with a tighter gauge, however, I have depended on the keys.

Save your money and time, and go buy yourself the ChiaoGoo interchangeable set. They aren't as pretty but they're a dream to knit with and honestly the best needles! I've tried several types and none seem to live up to those.I loved this needle set at first sight: So stunning! I thought the copper was so unique. Well, when I finally purchased myself this set for Christmas (as a gift to myself), I used it a few times and the 3.5mm needle chipped within a month of using it! Not to mention it turned dark so fast, and was not able to be polished off w/ their polishing cloth. I polish these needles often and sometimes I'm not able to get it as shiny as I'd like it to get.Also, when you are knitting it tends to get loose very easily, and the yarn gets stuck in the groove. The yarn also tends to stick to the metal and doesn't glide as well as I thought it would. Overall, I still love my set, but I will still be getting the ChiaoGoo set.

I love these knitting needles, however be aware that this seller is reselling used sets, as another reviewer also pointed out.

To start, I'm pretty sure I got someone's used return set. Some off the needles came tarnished and some came scratched up.I live in Hawaii so I expect to not be able to use these when it's Uber humid.The swivel cords work with my knit picks though so thats OK.
