Great for 978
This works very well for tracking UAT aircraft. I have it paired to a Sawbird+ and get planes within 100nmi. One has to keep in mind these planes fly at much lower altitudes that broadcast on UAT, so theyโre harder to pick up. Runs pretty warm as with most SDRโs.

Easy way to add 978 MHz to a ADSB feeder.
Working for me as I added 978 MHz to my existing 1080 MHz ADSB feeder. I plugged it in, configured the SDR and then rebooted. After awhile I started to see an airplane or two. I'm in the middle of the Inland Empire, Southern Caliornia, so there's not a lot of traffic around me. I created my own ground plane antenna and trimmed the aerial to about 77cm (just about 3 inches) as I measured the SWR on a VNA. Once I had it down to about 1.6 SWR, I connected to the SDR. The only downside is the plug obscures the neighbor USB port on a typical Raspberry Pi (4 model B). Using an USB extender seems to have degraded my reception by 1/2 (-3 dB). So that's the next thing to sort out. I'm really happy with how easy it was to connect and get going.

Wonderful!
Easy to set up, comes pre-configured for 978. Using a raspberry pi image, it gets picked up instantly as a 978UAT sdr, especially important when I have this and a blue 1090 on the same device. Only thing that sucks is that it's difficult to plug into the same pi and have something in the adjacent port.

Nice
Good stuff. Well built and works.

Works perfect
Added the orange radio to go with my blue radio, does a good job of receiving traffic, however there's not a ton of traffic on my area on this frequency. Was super easy to add to my existing setup with a Y cable paired with a saw bird. Definitely a great plug and play option!

Great Product, but was not programmed for 978MHz. It was programmed for 1090MHz.
Luckily its programmable. I received this and it was programmed to the 1090MHz frequency.. I had to learn to change it to the proper frequency to get it working. Since then... Works great. *Least I THINK so!*

excellent amplified LNA
One of the best SDRs when doing non-1090 scanning. Ideal for UAT-978, ACARS, VDLM2, AIS and many other similar protocols
