ATOPLEEER32 Collet Set,1pcs 1/8 Inch Spring Collet Set for CNC Engraving Machine and Milling Lathe Tool

Nicely finished, not great just nice, very clean no left over chips in the slots or anything. However I did notice right away there was no chamfer on the I.D. Just a sharp edge with slight burrs . Checking it like that (in a collet block on a surface plate) it was out 3 thou. After a careful stoning I got it to just a hair under 1 thou. So in the end I'm pleased, I guess. Anyway that's a place to take a look at and perhaps stone that edge a little, just to be sure. Put a dowel pin in and start snugging it up as you turn the pin, you'll be able to feel any burs.

I know one could pay a lot more for these collets and probably a commercial operator can’t mess around, but I have small shop and find these to do the job nicely. The accuracy is good, so I have never had an issue that way. Perhaps high production durability could be a concern or not. The heat treatment has always been consistent.

Seem to be built well. Received them fast. The only issue is they are labeled in millimeters but, they are not. For example, the half inch is labeled 1/2mm.

Great phy

The picture is of several metal strands I fished out of the cutouts and then twisted off, hoping no burrs were left behind. If we're being realistic though, of course there's a ton of burrs. This 5/8 collet was the worst, but all six collets had some level of clean up required. They also have a dirty finish inside the collers, no idea if those are prone to further degradation.Lesson learned: even as a beginner to CNC machining, invest in good tooling. These collets aren't worth even the $25 I bought them for.
