Witch's Composition Book: College Ruled 111 Page Notebook (Coloring Book of Shadows) Paperback – February 14, 2017

If I were just rating this book on the concept and artwork, I'd give it four, maybe four and a half stars. I really love the concept, and the artwork is cute, and it's fun and relaxing to color. The drawings are relatively simple, without the (in my opinion) annoyingly and unnecessarily intricate detail that's so trendy in adult coloring books now, which take the stress-free fun right out of the experience for me. The info page is pretty basic, but still useful and good to have.So why three stars? The construction is downright shoddy. I couldn't wait to get this and start writing and coloring in it. I was a bit taken aback when I took it out of the box and realized that it was softcover, but it wasn't really a big deal. Then I wrote in it. I took it out my desk drawer, sat down in one spot, and filled four pages (two leaves, front and back) with writing. By the time I was done, before I even got to color anything, the pages I'd turned over were coming loose from the binding at the bottom. I had to be very careful as I colored (which, again, takes some of the fun out of it) to keep them from coming out completely. Then I put it away and didn't think of it for a while because I was kind of bummed. When I needed to write another entry, I took it out and wrote very carefully, but the pages still came loose a little more at the bottom. It's unavoidable. I didn't even bother coloring when I was done writing, since I knew that would make the situation worse. I don't know if I'll even bother using it again. What's the point if I have to keep stopping to try to push the pages back in?

There are repeating 17 different designs on each page - Circled pentagram, cauldron, sun w/ rays, crystals, burning candle, bottle w/ crystal, branch of flowers w/ circled pentagram, sprigs of leaves, burning incense burner, planet w/ crescent moons/bats, daisy flowers, steaming tea kettle & cup, planet w/ circling rings, athame sword, wand, apothecary glass jar w/ liquid & crystals, branch of star flowers & leaves; each of the designs have additional designs - stars, pentagram w/ or w/o circle, even or uneven circles of varying sizes, crescent moons, crystal(s). The designs: are on the top of the page, lower left or right of page, upper right or left of page, so there is ample room for writing. Paper quality is good, use couple of sheets between pages when coloring as you will be coloring over previous colored designs, colored pencils is good, gel pens (glitter or not) are good - may show through depending on color and amount used, after drying it will not show through or faintly show through on the reverse side. The cover is on the thick side w/ a matte, somewhat smooth rubbery-like veneer & feel over it, so liquid won't soak into it.

This is a cute little spin on the composition notebook. I love the velvety feel of the cover and I love that there are coloring doodles on the pages. My one complaint is that I would have liked there to be a bit more space to write on the page, but other than that, I love that this notebook exists! There's a little bit of information that most witches would like to know like the Sabbats and color correspondences. And there's an area for you to write down the dates of each Sabbat. I really like this notebook and will definitely get more in the future!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE LOVE LOVE this book. the information is priceless, and i am solo for over 40yrs. this is the best book yet. lots of information in it in a handy reference spot, I love to color and work the moons each month. cant say enough great things about this book, I have bought 3 so far and will buy more I use this for thoughts, activity, and everything. BTW the pictures are a wonderful bonus. Don't hesitate to buy this you won't be disappointed, only delighted. Goddess Bless )O(

Love this book! It feels wonderful and I love the illustrations! It's the perfect little book to add all kinds of magic to! I love the page with the extra bits of info in the beginning as well! Absolutely worth $10.00!

I love this author's artwork! These pages are fun. It's just a simple composition book with cute art to color, but I love it so much!

Way too expensive for what it was. For a young witchling. I gave to my daughter. I suggest you create your own.
