Root Touch-Up Natural Instincts Permanent Hair Dye, 4R Dark Auburn

I purchased the root touch up kit because my local store was out of the regular size box of dye. Surprisingly, it covered all the gray hair that had grown in (I have a ton of thick curly hair) and blended perfectly. No need to use a whole box for bi-monthly touch ups anymore! The brush was super easy to use, too!

I have a lot of hair and it is quite thick. I thought this may not work, but actually works well. My hair is dark auburn to blackish in some areas and this color blends in just fine with no issues. I like that the fact that it doesn't stink and it only takes 20 minutes for the color to set, but I left it in a much longer hoping that it lasts longer as well. I don't have much grey to touch up so the contents will last me I would say about 4 total uses with the included conditioner as well.

I prefer the match to my natural auburn. This is a little purplish/wine color.

I’m so happy with this product, it was super easy to apply to my roots and now my hair looks fresh and well maintained. I get a lot of grays and I’m pleased with the coverage. I would definitely recommend touching up your roots with this. It’s quick and easy and looks great!

Easy to use, as the instructions are clear and simple. It works well, but you must wait as the instructions say. Otherwise, the dye color will not stay.

I can't stand the root touchups. It is messy and takes just as long if you were to do your entire head of hair. It doesn't come with conditioner for after application and the toolbrush doesn't do the job for me. It is clumsy and annoying.

My wife says this is extremely easy to use, not too messy, has even coverage, and is a very close color match. Great value. This is definitely a "touch up" and not a full root coverage product. Great for in-between salon visits.

Brand name, great price would purchase again for sale price without a doubt.

Clairol is a trusted Hair colour Company so I feel confident using this product as a root touch up. My usual product is a similar colour which is a dark Auburn red. As you can see in the photo of my hair is a lot brighter I generally put a temporary fantasy red over top of the permanent natural red. I've used this colour before and it is very gentle and the colours are neutral enough to give a pretty close match to the majority of hair colours out there. The tube of hair colour itself is quite small as it isn't intended to do an entire root touch up but just places that are visible such as your hairline or your part. It comes with a small rake brush style applicator that makes it quite easy to use and your touch up can be finished quickly. All together it's a pretty good product at a decent price that does the job nicely between full root touch-ups would definitely recommend this product as it is free from all animal by-products and I appreciate that.
