If you don't know how to turn it on or adjust it, read below
Well to start with I wasn't impressed. I could not get this thing to work, even after charging the rechargeable battery. And was just sorting out a return for it, when I suddenly thought "look for an instructional video on youtube, before I complete the return, because it looks like its a pretty good machine for a beginner".It is. Now I've worked out how it works, I find it easy to use and the needles lay down ink well.THE INK INCLUDED IS ONLY FOR FAKE SKIN. It's too runny and the black ink changes to grey/very dark blue within a few hours of doing an outline on real skin. You need to get a better quality ink for real skin. The instructions are basic and don't really :-A - Explain how to fit and adjust the needle cartridge.B - The instructions don't tell you how to turn on the rechargeable battery pack and make the machine work.A - Well, you'll need to charge the rechargeable battery pack, first. It's easy; USB cable end to USB mains socket (I used 5v usb socket, as come on extension leads). Once charged, insert the connector of the rechargeable battery into the end of the tattoo 'pen' (you mostly) hold it like a pen). I've found it won't work without a needle cartridge inserted & twisted until it sort of clicks into place. WATCH OUT THOUGH the steel needle tip comes out the end of the cartridge, it's sharp and the needle cartridge doesn't come with a lid/cover for it in the packet, so watch you don't stab yourself in the finger. After you've done that, you'll be able to adjust the needle cartridge/needle height, by twisting the section of pen adjacent to the needle/needle cartridge; Hold the pen horizontally and look at the needle tip; the metal bit that pokes out of the end of the cartridge, if you rotate this end of the pen, you will see the metal needle tip get longer or shorter, depending which way you're turning the end of the pen.B - To actually get the battery to turn on and power the tattoo pen, show how much charge is in it or choose the speed high & low; there is a large rubbery 'button' at the bottom centre of the central panel, above it 5 small clear areas. Press & hold the button in, the 5mall clear panels will light up. Flashing between 5 lights and 3 or 1 light, indicates how much charge is in it, 5-lights fully charged, 3-lights its still got some power in it, 1-light it needs charging.Plug the battery pack into the socket on the end of the pen; to power the tattoo pen, press the button on the battery pack and hold in until the panel lights up. If it doesn't light up at all, it's not got enough power to light the lights, it definitely needs a good 6-hours of charging.CAUTION / ATTENTIONBe careful of the needle tip the tattoo pen will start working immediately.C - Needle cartridge choice.I think there are 3 different types of needle in my kit;Liner - single s/s medical grade needle, used for fine lining of tattoos, usually with black ink, can also be used for additional very fine details. 2 x 5-packs included.Narrow Filler - 3 s/s medical grade needles, used for colouring or black infill areas and shading. 1x 5-pack included.Wide Filler - 5 s/s medical grade needles, used for colouring in larger areas of block colour,(the wider the spread of needles, the faster you can do large blocks of colour). There are plenty of other sizes & special needles out there. This is just a basic set, but good enough to do a first 'on real skin' NOT fake skin, tattoo. That's right, you read that right; This my first ever tattoo that I'm doing on ME. Never used a tattoo machine of any type, this is my first machine and though I have 4 different tattoo artists work on various parts of my body. I've only ever watched them 'permanently paint me'. I have never even practiced on any fake skin either. The photo is the result of my first ever use of any tattoo machine. What do I think of it in use. It's easier to hold the pen than I thought it would be. To 'get' how to do tattoos properly, its all about the pressure you put on the pen and needle tip on your skin & angle you use the pen; too much pressure and you'll dig the needle in too deep and bleed, too light and you'll not get the ink into that layer of skin under the epidermis which will hold the ink in place. It's all trial and error as everyone's skin is different. I just know my skin is tough as old boot.I chose to do my tattoo on my right knee cap. Yep, one of those places that is really boney and quite painful to tattoo - I'm not letting anyone tattoo any of my boney bits, without knowing how painful it's going to be. It's OK, but as I've had my back & spine tattooed and didnt feel any pain, it doesnt mean it doesnt sting afterwards. But it's going to need at least 3 sittings to finish off the way I want & the best I can get it with what kit I've got.

It’s not the worst….
It’s definitely not the worst out there but it’s not great, it seems quite shaky with vibration and it’s loud. However it’s a good little starter package with prime you can grab for £40 but sorry I’d not pay anymore than that for this.
