Great
This was a great book with wonderful illustrations, really good for helping kids with their maths but also fun. I bought it for a 3 year old as it was listed under this age group though I think it would be more suitable for a 6/7/8 year old as some of the maths is a bit advanced for a 3 year old. Hopefully he will enjoy the story and pictures now and it will help him with his maths when he is a little old -he loves penguins and it contains plenty of them!

Great way to learn about 'Time'
I first came across this book in my 6 years old son's reading session in class (year 2). Their class even has the penguin called 'Chill'. The children love Chill. What a fantastic way to introduce children with the concept of time: 31 Pengiuns came in Jan, then 28 pengiuns in Feb. 31 Pengiuns in March, 30 in April, etc. 365 pengiun - 1 day each! How many days in a year? Great fun, bright and attractive illustration, interesting sense of humour, up to date current affair related to 'Global warming'. I love it, high recommended!

A fun slightly batty story.
A fab story, kids and adults will both love. It is a real fun, eccentric book. Also it brings up maths concepts in a fun way. My 7 year old loved it so much we bought another copy to give to one of his friends. The only very slight negative,( and in all honesty does not really distract from the overall love of the story) is that it's American, so talk of $ not £ etc. But other than that a brilliant read.

Amazing
Used it to teach a week of creative learning based on days, weeks, months, years, adding, investigating triangle numbers, multiplication, numbers beyond 100 (3 digit numbers) etcIt also led into some great writing. My only issue did arise from the money and weight pages, but my class are so young I read English alternatives.

Brilliant for mathematical understanding
This is a wonderful story about a family receiving a delivery of penguins to their house. It is filled with mathematical problems and makes links to the days in the week and the number of days in each month. It also comes with problems about feeding and the cost of feeding those penguins.I would recommend this book to teachers and parents who have young children.
