Take the following steps when you receive the snail in the mail: 1. It is of utmost importance that when the mail carrier delivers your package that it do not sit in an outdoor mailbox. A mailbox sitting in the sun will reach scorching temperatures and in the winter time no amount of insulation will protect a package left for any amount of time in freezing temperatures. 2. Upon receipt, remove the snail from the package and put it in a bowl with the water it was shipped in. Leave the snail in the bowl and allow the temperature of the shipping water to reach room temperature. Keep an eye on it as the snail will likely start crawling around now and they may leave the bowl. 3. Once the shipping water reaches room temp, add a tablespoon of water from the snail's new home to the bowl. Continue to add another tablespoon of tank water every 5 minutes for an hour.
