This works extremely well and blocks out almost all light that hits it. They do block out 100% of the light coming from the window. Light will still shine out around them depending on how close they are mounted to the wall. Measure you opening well and add a little bit for the pleating of the fabric as it weaves onto the curtain rod. They darken the room so well I've been falling asleep and STAYING asleep. My average sleep hours jumped from barely 5... to 7 almost 8 hours! The panel was this nice thick heavy silky fabric with a strong rose aroma that filled the room. The fabric barely had wrinkles too so I could put it up right away without washing.
