Great phone!
By the reviews, the Priv seems to be either love or hate. I love mine. I've been using it a couple of months now and have had no issues whatsoever. Coming from a Blackberry Classic, I sure do miss the BB OS, but this model's Android w/BB's security modules is great. Speed is fine, features all work fine, no issues. I did get the T-Mobile branded unit because I didn't want any surprises w/WiFi calling and all that other service provider jazz. Give one a go, you might like it! I also got a sold by and ships from Amazon unit, so not sure what third-party units are like.

From BB10 to Android
I don't even know where to really start with this review. My phone before purchasing this was the BlackBerry Passport original unlocked version. I am one of those few people who still value a physical keyboard to no end. However, with Blackberry announcing that BB10 support would be ending at the end of 2019 it was time to look for a new phone. Physical keyboard Android phones are a rarity, though I do remember a time where they were very commonplace (Motorola Droid Line up to the 4.) So a physical keyboard to me was the most important feature that really only left 2 options for me the BlackbBerry Priv or the BlackBerry KeyOne. While the KeyOne reminded me more of the Passport the price was just out of my range at the time.So with the Priv I went. After having used the phone for the last month and a half as my daily driver my take on it goes as follows Pros: Screen Quality Keyboard (gestures shortcuts) Rear Camera Solid Slide Mechanism Blackberry version of Android (this is not close to stock despite what other reviews may say.) Blackberry Hub (easily my favorite thing from BB10) Cons Front Camera Phone can get hot in certain situations Performance (Given the specs of the phone there shouldn't be as much animation jank and waiting for apps to open as there are) Blackberry Hub ( while I love it again it is slow to open and not nearly as quick as BB10 version) Keyboard (this is more a personal one coming from the wide 3-row keyboard of the Passport to Priv takes some getting use to) But overall I would definitely purchase this phone again mainly because it meets my personal needs. I'll be honest your mileage may vary depending on your needs from your phone. However, for me a low price, decent rear camera, and a physical keyboard more than makeup for the software issues.

Only for minimalists
Itโs a good phone if youโre not gonna install a single app over what is in the phone already other wise itโs just like every other android device and even worse. Heating up, lagging and draining charge so fast.

I love BB phones and I also love being different
This is a sensational phone. I get teased a lot because I stick with Blackberry products. I love BB phones and I also love being different! I upgraded from a Z10. Physically, the phone is just beautiful. This is my first foray into Android...coming from the Z10, it's a complete breath of fresh air...should've upgraded sooner. I received the phone 2 days ago, and I haven't been able to put it down. Expectations have been greatly exceeded!

Decent Value at Right Price
This phone looks good, and Android OS is improvement vs old BlackBerry devices. Beautiful curved display. Keyboard and slide are well made, smooth, and more durable than expected. But quality of materials not good. Overall feels too flimsy. Biggest gripes are 1) Device is slow and OS frequently stalls and freezes, I I have to reboot it everyday 2) OS stuck at Android M, not supported for N or later -- lame for a high end device that's relatively young, many older devices support N. I bought mine new but 2 years after inception so I got a deal and not upset, but would be if I paid original price. Overall it's the best BlackBerry I've tried, but not impressive vs other Android devices. It gets 2.5 stars because the current 200-300ish price tag is a decent value for the specs.

Great Phone, but Keyboard Is Too Small
This is the best smart phone I have owned yet. I love how it functions and it works reasonably fast. I am very satisfied with the camera pics. It does overheat sometimes, but it is not a big deal. The thing I most dislike is the keyboard. It is too small. I had bought this phone because I wanted one with a keyboard. I have barely used the keyboard on this phone and it that part of the phone is pretty much worthless to me.
