I believe the shank size is 5/16ths

what is the distance between the drill bits, center to center?

Not sure don’t use it anymore it’s nothing but junk no matter what I do nothing lines up

What drill bit sizes come with the unit? Where do I find additional drill bits if needed?

It comes with 1/4" drill bit. I don't know where to buy different sizes, I would like to get a 3/8". Perhaps Amazon. This is a very solid unit.

Can it do single dowels and other sizes?

I guess you could just remove 1 bit to use as a single doweler. I believe there are other bit size(s) available. I only used what came with the machine
