desertcart.com: The Happiness Project One-Sentence Journal for Mothers: 9780385348652: Rubin, Gretchen: Books Review: and I love it! I keep it in my nightstand and ... - My husband gifted me this journal a couple of years ago just before I gave birth to our son, and I love it! I keep it in my nightstand and jot something down before bed. It's great to look back and see what was happening in our lives at the time. You're instructed to write down something that made you happy that day, and you're given just a few lines to do so. What's especially great about that is the fact that you don't feel the need to make a long, detailed journal entry. It's quick and easy, and you're left with a bunch of happy memories. My friend loved the idea of it as well (especially when you simply don't have the time or energy or wits about you when you've got kids!) so I got this for her birthday and she loves it as well. It's something sweet and simple that our kids will love reading one day. Some of the sayings and quotes at the top of each page are kind of strange, but it's a small detail that's easy to overlook. Otherwise, you fill in the year for each entry, the book is good for five years of memories, and there's even a small ribbon attached to mark where you left off. Great little journal to give or receive! Review: Best gift ever for new moms and dads - This is my go to present for new moms (and dads). I received this as a gift when my daughter was born and absolutely love my little book. I don't have enough time to write a proper diary, I also do not have time for all those 'at three months you did this, at six months you did this'... it all sounds amazing and I wanted to do it pre-child, but now with child, there is just no time. BUT there is always time to write one sentence that is wonderful about the day (mostly a sentence about my daughter :) ). It gets me in a great mood and I find a way to write down our memories and be precise at that.

The journal for a non-journaling mom
I don’t even recall how I came across this journal, but it is a key piece of my motherhood journey. I have never successfully kept a journal - ever. But I started using this journal a few months after my oldest child was born, and I’ve written a sentence or two about him nearly every day since. As Gretchen says, the days are long but the years are short - I’ve nearly filled my second 5 year journal for my almost 10 year old, and I’m looking forward to buying one for the next 5 years. I now keep one journal for each of my children, and they are my prized possessions. If our house was on fire, I would grab my husband, children, and my journals.

Perfect journal for a busy mom!
I love this journal! It is the perfect size! I keep it next to my night stand and write one or two sentences down about my son’s day. It is so easy to do and isn’t a huge time commitment (a big deal for a mommy of a 6 month old)! I’m buying two more copies for friends who are about to have babies! I can’t wait to look back one day to see his how his day to day activities unfolded. Highly recommend!

Great idea, but it's just a bit too small.
I love this journal as it doesn't feel too intimidating when you are only given a few lines to write on for each day. I also enjoy the quotes included on each page. With that said, the journal is really tiny and sometimes a few lines just doesn't feel like enough space. And the lines are really close together so you have to write pretty small. Would be perfect if the whole journal was just a big bigger.

Perfect way to preserve precious memories!
I bought 2 of these, one for each of my children, so I can record a sentence about them daily and then pass this on to them on their 18th Birthdays. My son is now 3 and daughter is 18 months old. This is the perfect book to record funny sayings and milestones that occur each day. I have a hard time remembering to record these things, so by placing these books on my nightstand, I can easily take a few minutes every night to record memorable moments. :-) Great idea and love all the Happiness Project resources by Gretchen Rubin!

I just got started ... lots of fun being positive...
My daughter had started one of these and it looked like a fun idea, so I bought this one. Each day I write 1 or 2 sentences of something positive that has happened that day in my life. I think it will be fun to look at it through the years. I keep a journal and have for many many many years, and sometimes I go back and read previous years' entries. This little book allows for 1 or 2 sentences that can be compared over a 5 year period. I just got started.
