Beautiful
Wow - I've been looking at these boots for months and finally came up at a good price on Amazon.Appearance: With anything it's in the eye of the beholder, but the boots are gorgeous. The ostrich leather is first rate in quill pattern with no visible marring. The color is exactly what I had envisioned with a deep chocolate brown and matches product image exactly. I'm not a flashy dressing guy and that was my fear with the "loud" ostrich pattern. These boots are impressively understated. They look like boots which are twice the cost. Couldn't be happierFit: A lot has been said about the fit and to me they fit exactly as expected. Based on my experience, they run smaller than Justin boots. My Go-To boot had been Twisted X and Boulet - which fit my foot perfectly as an 11D. Justin's I'm a 10.5D. I ordered the 11D and they fit great. A little loose in the heel, but not bad. The 10.5 would have been too small. In my opinion these boots run true to size and fit the way most brands 11D fit.Comfort: Good Lord these are a cross between a slipper and a running shoe. The soft strike sole makes you feel like you're walking on a padded floor. It's my first pair of ostrich - so maybe not unusual but they're light and the leather seems to just wrap your foot in comfort. There doesn't appear to be a "break in" period. The only thing the could do is get more comfortable I guess. This is an all-day - all-knight boot, not a pair that you look forward to pulling off when you get home.Quality: First pair of Dan Post boots as well and as far as craftsmanship they're perfect. Had been eyeing a pair of Lucchese boots and there is no difference in the manufacturing quality. There are no lose threads. The welt is trimmed perfectly. As I said earlier the ostrich hide is flawless. The boot shaft is a quality soft and supple leather also with perfect stitching and design.Last Words: It's been a long time since I've bought a pair of boots that I liked this much out of the box. Usually I'm wondering if they'll break in right, or if my foot will get used to them or if I'll give up after a few hours and they'll end up in the back of my closet only to be worn on occasion. The Alamosa is an absolutely top quality, well engineered and built boot that delivers on comfort as much as it does looks. I'll update as I wear them and add a durability section to the review - but these boots have become my daily boots the minute I slipped them on. Buy with confidence.

WOW!
As an avid purchaser of Amazon, I think this might be my first review, but I feel I had to write one. I gotta tell you, I love these boots. Being from Wyoming I've had dozens and dozens of pairs of cowboy boots for both riding/working on the place and also for dress boots. I'm cheap, and tend not to take the best care of my boots, so in the past I've tended to buy boots in the $150 to $200 range. I'm really glad I splurged just a little more to buy these boots. I'm also the dude that could care less about style, but every time I wear these my wife looks down and says "damn, those are good looking boots". I can say bar none that these boots are the most comfortable I've ever worn. Yep, initially they were tough to get my foot into and out of, but that's common with a good boot. They're breakiing in well. Having said that, I've owned lots of boots that I take off as soon as I have an opportunity to do so. These boots I put em on, and keep em on. Incredibly comfortable boots. Living in Wyoming I also needed a sole that has some traction due to snow and ice. The little tread they have works way better than solely the leather soles. What's weird is my last few pairs of boots were very loud when walking on concrete or wood floors. The softer sole on these boots is much quieter. The ostrich is soft and has broken in quickly. I love the removable insole which is a must for me. Never have I owned a pair of Dan Post boots. If these boots hold up like I think they will then Dan Post will have my business for a long time.

Absolutely stunning boots
I debated buying these boots for over a year. They’re a lot of money and I just hemmed and hawed back and forth about buying them. Let me just say they’re absolutely ravishing to look at. The absolute most beautiful boots I’ve ever seen in my life. Every single day I wear them I get compliments on them. Every day. They are “flashier” and people take note of them, which ordinarily would bother me as I’m not a “flashy” person, but they’re also classy and just nice boots. It’s hard to explain, but they’re stunning in person.I originally bought a 12D. Couldn’t even get my foot into them past the instep. Sent them back and ordered a 11.5E. Takes some finagling but my foot slides in (it’s loosened up over the past couple weeks). Problem is the toe box and heel are a little loose. My other boots these areas have tightened up as I’ve worn them in and I suspect that will be the case with these as well.I ordered some Bicks exotic cleaner and a horse hair brush. I’m OCD about cleaning these. With those + a micro fiber cloth these things SHINE up.Last thing I’ll say is this ostrich is by far the softest leather I’ve ever owned. Supple isn’t the word for it this stuff is like butter. I wish I’d spent the money a year ago. I finally decided I work hard and I’ve never seen a hearse with a luggage rack so I decided to treat myself after getting a new job. Solid call because these boots are amazing!

great fit and supreme quality
I have never bought Dan Post boots before. Have always bought Justin, Lucchese, Tony Lama. I am extremely impressed with the quality and fit. These were recommended by my cobbler of the last 35 years as a great boot for the money. He was right as usual. Happy customer here these won't be my last purchase of Dan Post boots.

HORRIBLE QUALITY
My son loved these boots, so I bought them for him for his 49th birthday. His feet are skinny and narrow - they fit easily into the boots when he tried them on upon receiving them. He attempted to put them on to wear them for the first time and the boot straps/pulls ripped off. One side came off completely and the second tore easily. Additionally, as you can see in the photo, the materials other than the ostrich skin are synthetic. Stitching is crooked. We were going to let slide the fact that there is an obvious dye drip on the back of the boot. The quality is AWFUL.I own several high end designer shoes, all of which are clearly attended to with detail. These are NOT made well. Target has better quality shoes.I’m highly disappointed.Don’t buy these.
