Excellent soap! It doesn't dry out the skin. It is great for acne. It is the best black soaps that I ever used.

I have used African black soap before, but it has been awhile. I love the Ashanti Naturals brand's Chunky Shea Butter, so was excited to try their African black soap. I like the addition of the lavender - it smells so nice! But really, I got this for my teen son to try because he has acne and for the most part he just doesn't care that much, most of the time he can't be bothered to take care of his skin, much less go along with some sort of multi-step skincare routine. So I thought if he kept this soap in his shower, he would at least use it on his face each day when he showers. He has been doing that for a few weeks now, and while the soap hasn't performed any miracles, it has definitely helped reduce the size and number of pimples. He doesn't mind the lavender smell because it is not strong and doesn't linger long, and he likes that the soap doesn't dry out his skin. If I could get him to combine using this soap in the shower each morning with then putting some Benzoyl Peroxide cream on his face afterward, I think he would get some really great results. (Wish me luck getting him to do this, though - but anyone out there with acne should try it!)Overall a very nice soap that is all-natural, smells nice, and is great for the face and body, whether you have acne or not - but it does help reduce acne without drying out the skin.

Excellent for skin blemishes, and it really smells like lavender. Excellent product, one of the best black soaps that I ever used.

I've used African black soap for a while now, and it is unique as well as great bath soap. Without the lavender scent, African black soap has a pleasant earthy aroma. Add the lavender to that, and it smells like being in a garden of fresh earth and flowers. In addition, it tends to be less harsh than some bath soaps, making a fine lather the leaves the skin fresh and clean with no drying, itchy film left behind. The ingredients do not include any unpronounceable chemicals, but only natural products of the earth. I've gotten African black soap in a small container. From that, I would break off a piece and form it into a bath bar by hand. Anyone with sensitive skin should give this soap a try.
