I am so thrilled!! but not made in Japan any longer...
Exactly what I needed! Water tastes like spring/ mineral water. I am a water drinker, that is the only cold liquid I consume, so when I drink water somewhere else, I get disappointed. I buy spring water or mineral water when not home. All that "filtered" water they sell at the big stores, is just filtered tap water, YUK!!! You will not get sick, but it tastes awfu,l therefore you do not want to drink it!

That it works. Congrats.
I would recommend to anyone buying this to soak it overnight then shake the bubbles out of it. I can’t confirm but I’m pretty sure the left over bubbles cause resistance in the filter, while the water is trying to go down. Just a note that might help.

11 month life cycle = replace ceramic filter too, if you are using it.
I have been using the NIkken gravity water system for several years and am well pleased with the result. While it is only my wife and I using the system, we cook a great deal and consume a fairly high quantity of the filtered water. Even so, the filters (this and the Stage 1 ceramic) lasted 11+ months before the flow rate through them approached zero and both needed replacement.
