Grin BY Grin Bread Bags, My One Year Review
Spoiler alert I love these bags! I do a fair amount of home sourdough bread baking. It's just my wife and I as a rule so I normally bake two loaves every seven to ten days, but truthfully it just depends on how quickly we eat the bread. Sometimes, two loaves will last a couple of weeks. Anyway, I always bake two loaves at a time since it's a couple of days process. One is usually unbleached white flour or whole wheat, and the second loaf is usually a seeded Rye. To keep them fresh, for years I reused plastic Dave’s bread bags, but honestly my loaves are big enough to make that a challenge. The bags were barely large enough. So I began looking for something better. At first I tried muslin bags, which while they are great for transporting bread, they are useless for keeping it fresh. The muslin being extremely porous, the bread dries out and gets stale very quickly. Luckily I found the Grin By Grin bags. They come as a pair which is perfect for my needs. Also, being different colors ivory and blue I can easily distinguish one loaf from the other. I have used these bags continuously for about 13 months and they are great! Pros: They are very well made and sturdy. I haven’t had a single issue in that regard. Complaints I’ve read about weak seams or zippers are definitely not true for me. They breath, but are not extremely porous, so they keep my bread fresh without it getting stale or drying out. They are large. In a couple of my pictures you can see that I easily fit two loaves onto a single bag. I don’t do that, but I wanted to show it’s possible. The zipper is really not necessary as it’s really the rolling and buckling the end of the bag that seals it. I say that because a few of the complaints I read regarded the zipper failing. They claim to be machine washable, but I have not found it necessary and I don’t think I’d risk it. It’s so easy to shake out the crumbs and I’ve even turned them inside out at least once and wet wiped them. I’ve not had my bread mold in them and I’ve kept bread in them for up to two weeks. That said, I don’t even bag my bread until it’s 24 hours old and I refrigerate my bread after I bag it. Occasionally, if I know it will be a while before we consume it, I will freeze it. These bags are great for either. I have seen a few complaints of moisture build up in the bags and mold occurring. I have experienced neither. I believe my success is because I never bag my bread until the day after it’s been baked and after that, I store it in the refrigerator. Cons: None!

Love it! We just started making homemade bread and this works great! I’ve had the loaf in the bag for 3 days so far and it’s still moist and fresh!! Great product!

Buy these, not ziplock bags, you'll save money
Why did you pick this product vs others?: These have been by far the best bread bags. Have you ever used. It keeps our bread from drying out, it seems like it lasts a decent amount of time. I was tired of spending money on disposable ziplock bags. I'm very happy with this purchase and recommend it to anybody who does a lot of bread baking. I really like how you can zip it up. Roll it and snap it. You don't have to do this, but we like to. Heavy duty material. It seems to last a long time. I'm very easy to clean.

Environmentally friendly
What a great product!! I love to bake bread and storing freshly baked bread is always a challenge, not any more. These bags are thick, easy to clean and attractive!! I love the eco friendliness of this product, no more plastic bags or aluminum foil for storing bread. The bread stays fresh and the bags are easy to use. Consider this product when making holiday baked goods. The bags (it comes with 4 attractive bags) are gifts in themselves. The bags can be used for other storage purposes. They seal well and transport well too.

My husband just mastered sourdough bread! So when I started looking for these, I liked everything that the description had to say, and it definitely does what it says! Great gift for a bread maker!

Keeps my bread fresh!
They’re large and fit all types of loaves. Easy to clean the inside and I love that you can wrap it to make a handle. It keeps my bread fresh! I even pre cut slices and my toddlers didn’t eat them so I put them in there with the loaf, expecting that they’d be kind of stale by morning but they were soft and great! Very happy to finally have a way to store my bread. Ive stored bread for up to 3 days and been good. Never gone past 3 days because it’s always ate by then.

Not for bread
Good plastic type of bags. Do not keep bread longer, has a tendency to cause mold due to the heat. Good bags to freeze in. Will use for something other than bread.

Perfect for Homemade Sourdough Lovers
I’ve been using these for about 11 months and couldn’t be happier. I bake sourdough a few times a week, and these bags keep my loaves fresh for up to a week. I sometimes add a piece of paper towel inside to help absorb moisture, and it works perfectly. They also freeze beautifully — my bread always tastes just as fresh when thawed. I’ve started buying them as gifts for my sourdough-baking friends, and everyone loves them.

J’adore!!
