Philips sparkling water make working well
It is working well so far, yet different than the previous one I had which was the same model. At first I didn't feel it was really carbonating much, as it was working different than the previous one I had., but it does. The material works, I don't care for plastics but it is just the housing so it does not affect the water that I have noticed. It is a good size and doesn't take up a ton of counter space and easy to wipe down and clean. I enjoy being able to make my own soda water rather than buying lots of plastic bottles and hope this is durable.

Great deal with some caveats to consider
I replaced a Soda Stream Terra that failed and chose this for the main reason that I wanted to return to a screw type carbonation cylinder (not the quick-connect) AND I wanted something simple. These are a steal right now, likely because Philips has discontinued the product. This is fine by me, because it takes the Soda Stream and other brand canisters, so I hope to get a few years use from this. Note that other water bottles are NOT compatible, so order an extra 1 or 2 if you can. Even so, it's a sturdy bottle and I pour the freshly carbonated water into my smaller Soda Stream bottles right away to extend use. Operation is easy - just push the canister in firmly and give it a few good twists - you do hear a click and it should feel firm. Twist in the water bottle filled to the line with cold water, and push firmly for 2-3 seconds, wait, hear puff sound, repeat 2-3x. The way home carbonation machines are designed, pushing too long will just waste gas and I've found this creates a good level of fizz for me. It's a great machine for the price, just buy knowing that product support may be minimal because this was discontinued.

Crotchety old user says this is fine
So I had basically the first gen SodaStream, toxic plastics and all, and then it finally broke, so I am comparing this unit to an obsolete one. This machine is sexy and clean and looks great. It doesn’t quite fit easily under my cabinets, and it goes through CO2 canisters much more quickly than my OG SodaStream, but it is super cute and easy to use and does the job. It uses standard CO2 canisters that can be replaced through third parties and replaces quite easily

Buyer beware of compatibility issues between Philips soda machines and Philips bottles
Why has Philips made this so difficult??? My old Soda Stream carbonator broke after several years of great service & I thought I would try the Philips brand - I now wish that I didn't. I bought the Philips ADD4902BKO/37 carbonator on the basis that it was compatible with the screw valve CO2 cylinders I already have, and based on comments I had read it seemed to be compatible with the Soda Stream plastic bottles. When I got the carbonator it did work with the screw in CO2 bottles, but I found that it wouldn't work with the Soda Stream plastic bottles. The Philips plastic bottle has 4 'bayonet lugs' that are used to lock the plastic bottle to the carbonator. I realized that I obviously needed to order the correct plastic bottles for this Philips carbonator. I selected from the Amazon website a pair of Philips plastic bottles that were recommended as being compatible with the carbonator I had purchased - and I checked that they were listed as being compatible with the ADD4902BKO/37 carbonator. When I received these new plastic bottles I realized that they didn't have the 4 bayonet lugs and hence are just the same as the Soda Stream bottles I already had. Something didn't add up here so I went digging into this compatibility issue further. On close inspection of the carbonator machine I had purchased I realized that the serial number on the bottom of the item suggests that the model number is actually ADD4902BKOQ/37. It seems that the letter "Q" in the model number has major significance - not that this is pointed out on the Philips website, nor is this highlighted on the Amazon advert. From what I can tell it seems like this letter "Q" denotes that the carbonator has what some people are calling a "quick twist neck" - I.E., the plastic bottle features 4 bayonet lugs, and the absence of the letter "Q" means that the plastic bottle is the original screw top type. It wouldn't be so bad if this was all clearly laid out however the Philips website doesn't even talk about these two completely different bottle types nor does it explain that there is a compatibility issue if you have the wrong type of plastic bottle. I see other users have made comments about the plastic bottles not sealing correctly when carbonating & I am guessing that this is the cause of issues with other users and I suspect that they might not have an engineering background and the ability to try and diagnose exactly what the issue is. What made this issue particularly bad in my situation was that I ordered a carbonator with the ADD4902BKO/37 model number but in reality I was sent a ADD4902BKOQ/37 and to a new customer not fully versed in the subtle differences in Philips part numbers, there was nothing obvious to suggest that I had been sent the ADD4902BKOQ/37 model - I am only able to determine this difference by inspecting the serial number on the bottom of the carbonator. As a customer I don't really care which model of carbonator and plastic bottles I have - BUT what is important is that I want a carbonator and plastic bottles that are compatible with each other. What makes this a really bad issue is that it seems that even Philips are not aware of this compatibility issue - if you order a device with one model number and they actually send you a device with a slightly different model number. I would characterize this issue as constituting that this product is not fit for its intended purpose. If Philips can't effectively manage the fact that they are selling different types of carbonators and plastic bottles and they have compatibility issues then they shouldn't sell this product. I would welcome a technical representative from Philips contacting me so that I can show them the extent of how bad this compatibility issue is - specifically regarding many of the product pages on the Amazon platform and even the information on the Philips website.

Good but buy new
Avoid the renewed ones as many seem to have defects such as not being able to attach the bottle to the unit. I prefer this over soda stream for looks and functionality. Plus if you still have the screw in gas bottles I believe this is your only option now. The bayonet style bottle attachment is definitely an upgrade over soda streams screw in bottles. Also as others have noted, be careful not to lose the silicone washer in the cap. One time it came off with the bottle which was then inserted into the machine to recharge only to get jammed in the neck around the white gas nozzle and was very difficult to get out. I now suspect most of the returns and complaints about bottles not being able to be attached for filling are due to this issue. Other than that, it’s great.

Perfect replacement to make use of our full screw in CO2 bottles.
We had a competitor model that broke and we were left with 3 full screw in CO2 bottles. This was the perfect replacement unit to make use of our full bottles and we will continue to get the screw in bottles in the future. In my opinion it works as well as the old one that we had. Glad that I found this model!

Proprietary bottle makes it a deal breaker
Shipped very fast and its boxed nicely. Super simple to assemble and start using - very few parts...All these things I loved...Comes with a nice large attractive bottle - albeit plastic - which is also nice... The bottle locks in and you get a nice amount of fizz and there is a secure cap etc... I did not experience any of the issues others had with the water spraying everywhere or the bottle clicking off - although I've only had it about a week. Again so far so good. The Bad: 1. And for me this is a big one - they've switched to a proprietary bottle/top design so you can not use it with any other bottles etc...This would be fine if Philips made all kinds of different (stainless steel) options that you can purchase but they dont. So for me just this is kind of a deal breaker because I'd hate to be locked into a system where the system gets discontinued and there are very few other options for using the unit 2. Smaller deal - but does not come with a Co2 canister and a second bottle. This is not as huge a deal for me because at this price I'm not expecting frills.

This bad boy will do so much fizzy lifting work for your drinks
Functionally, it puts the CO2 in the drink. It’s easy to use and honestly the money you’ll save doing this instead of buying sparkling water is insane. It’s solidly built and worth the purchase if you frequently drink the crispy water. Amazon really wants me to mention the fact it’s made of plastic so… if you’re allergic to plastic I wouldn’t buy it. Also the bottle it comes with needs replaced every six months or something (you’re putting pressurized gas into it so eventually it’ll get tired and need replaced; still cheaper than buying sparkling water).

Parfait pour de l'eau pétillante
Fonctionne aussi bien qu'une SodaStream. Élégante et discrète dans la cuisine. Seul hic, bouteilles SodaStream non compatibles

Gereklimi acaba diye düşünerek aldım
Süper bir cihaz.Yazları soğuk lezzetli içecekler hazırlamak için ideal tavsiye ederim.Türkiye için tüp bulması problem ürün içinden tüp çıkmıyor.Ayrı tüp ve dolum aparatı alıp sanayi gaz dolum istasyonlarında dolum yaptırdım

Wassersprudler
