Sheer delight – The Times This 42nd Anniversary Edition includes exclusive bonus material from the Douglas Adams archives, and an introduction by Doctor Who showrunner, Russell T Davies. An international phenomenon and pop-culture classic, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy has been a radio show, TV series, novel, stage play, comic book and film. Following the galactic (mis)adventures of Arthur Dent, Hitchhiker’s in its various incarnations has captured the imaginations of curious minds around the world . . . It's an ordinary Thursday lunchtime for Arthur Dent until his house gets demolished. The Earth follows shortly afterwards to make way for a new hyperspace express route, and his best friend has just announced that he's an alien. At this moment, they're hurtling through space with nothing but their towels and an innocuous-looking book inscribed, in large friendly letters, with the words: DON'T PANIC . The weekend has only just begun . . . Continue Arthur Dent's intergalactic adventures in the rest of the trilogy with five parts: The Restaurant at the End of the Universe Life, the Universe and Everything So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish Mostly Harmless Praise for Douglas Adams: One of the world’s sanest, smartest, kindest, funniest voices – Independent on Sunday Magical . . . read this book – Sunday Express A pleasure to read – New York Times This novel has now been brought to the stage by Riverside Studios as an immersive show. Review: Probably the most Remarkable book ever to come out of the Great ublishing orporations of Ursa Minor - It was probably the most remarkable book ever to come out of the great publishing corporations of Ursa Minor – of which no Earthman had ever heard either" This book is one of a Kind, and should belong to self help category. I wish this book happened at a more impressionable age in my life. I wasn't a young reader and I regret that but whatever it is, I am glad this book chose me even if through an Infinite Improbability Drive. I am in awe and the less I speak of it, the better. This is a classic for a reason. Be it for the deadpan, very English and very novel style of humor or the deep philosophy hidden behind the surface level frivolousness or just the absurdity. Adams's conception of the Universe transcends every conceivable boundary of creativity and language. I am eventually going to read the rest of the four books in the Trilogy.

Must read in humour genre
My first ever humour read. It's like a Monty pythonish absurd fun. I enjoyed a lot and it led me to look at other humour books.

Overhyped
Overhyped. Too much nonsense writing. Plot doesn't hold interest and unnecessary marketting of the book itself happening within the content.

Just couldn't stop reading it
I knew it was a classic and people loved it but I never felt the urge to read it. It stayed in my wishlist for years until I got bored of the types of books I was reading and wanted some fiction. I got the sample and had to buy it because I couldn't stop reading. Great book! Really sparkles our imagination!

Si no te lo has leído aún no entenderás muchas cosas sobre la ciencia ficción y la cultura de hoy, es muy divertido y merece mucho la pena leerlo, da igual si tienes 15 o 40 años

Makes one feel happy
It’s really clever and the funny bits appear quite out of nowhere even when we know this book has got plenty. It’s humble in a special way even when being so well put together. One small discomfort was me waiting for a plot to appear (which is not mandatory for a book of this coolness level), but it does appear and the absurdity still makes sense in a way. Looking forward to relishing the next book in the series and most probably the rest!
