A must-have for teachers, families, and aspiring musicians. Review: A welcome challenge - I'm going to start with 5 stars & I will update if needs be. I got my book today, & boy was I excited. I played piano as a teen very briefly. I learned how to read music for just the 5 finger stretch around middle C. This was enough for me to dabble, more off than on, throughout the years with beginner books. I want to enjoy the piano, but it is not my primary learning instrument. So my practice is just an enjoyable daily time out with a couple of songs. I wanted to add too my dismally small collection of easy books, otherwise practice is going to be real boring real quick. I also wanted something that would familiarize me with lower and higher notes. I could already workout a limited amount of these notes, but this book, already, has me using them regularly. Working on the first song, is the challenge I needed. It is described as "Love Theme from episode ll." As I attempt to play it, I can feel myself becoming comfortable with more of the piano. I know the later films as I am a child of the original Star Wars, and a mum of children aged for the prequels. Even though my timing is pretty dreadful I can recognize parts of the tune, and I find the melody pretty enchanting. It is pleasing to the ears. Of course, I just want to be able to play Darthvader's theme tune. However, that is later in the book, and that is really going to stretch me. Looks hard. I believe this to be a good book for those with some basic knowledge of piano & the desire to push their abilities. If this book were any easier the songs probably would not be so easy on the ears. Review: Incredibly simplified - I've only had this for a few hours and have only tried two pieces, but it's exactly what I needed. Don't go in thinking you're gonna be blowing away a crowd, but if you're a beginner, this is great. Each piece is two pages long, which means you can push your way through to the end quickly and feel satisfaction without feeling like giving up halfway through if you're having trouble. I have almost no real experience with piano. I was in choir in high school 15 years ago, and I learned enough to pick my way through my part, which is to say one note at a time. This is the first music I've tried to read in at least 12 years, and this is the first time I've touched a piano in as long. Having stuff I'm familiar with that makes my nerdy soul happy helps with motivation, and with how simple everything is, it gives me a sense of satisfaction even if I'm sitting there "all cows eat grass"ing the whole way along. Again, keep in mind this is incredibly simplified. Don't expect impressive composition or anything like that. The who pieces I've played so far have been in the key of C for ease of playing. It's been nice to just pick something up and feel like I know what I'm doing.

Great for Beginners
This is a great book for beginners. I used to be able to play much better than I do now, but a fire destroyed my old upright (player) piano and all my music, back in 1978. I recently bought another piano and I'm having to relearn. I do have one complaint, though. The back of this book (spiral bound) says it's $14.99. I paid over $27. I think I got ripped off!!!!

Great way to get my kids to practice
Now that my kids are old enough to love so things Star Wars, picking up some Star Wars sheet music for them seemed like a natural progression. Songs like the Star Wars theme song, “May the Force Be With You,” and “The Imperial March” are classics that make practice fun. There are a few songs in here that are a little out of their reach, and there aren’t any songs here from the sequel trilogy (Rey’s theme would have been fun). But they do have songs from the prequels, like “Duel of the Fates,” which while challenging, the kids love. Would definitely recommend this book for aspiring musicians of all ages.

Fun addition to our music collection
We have a beginner piano player and the music is es to read. Most songs are a bit advanced for a true beginner but easy enough to work through.

My kids love this music- good for kids who have played for a few years.
I was worried that this might be either too hard for my kids or to easy, but it seems just right. My kids have been playing for a few years and both my older one who plays difficult songs and my younger one who plays less difficult music, both have enjoyed playing in this book. Now they can play the songs correctly and not just guess what notes to play. Even my beginner can at least pick out some of the notes.

Good for beginning players
My sons are year two piano players and lifelong Star Wars fans, so this book is great. It has a few tunes from the prequel trilogy (most notably “Duel of the Fates”), but the lion share of songs are from the classic Star Wars movies. The arrangements are fairly simple and still true to the music.

Fun collection
I bought this for my daughter who is still a beginner knowing she'd grow into these but they are fun for me to sit down and play and she is working on just the right hand with her teacher. Great easy arrangements.

Great!
Easy to play compilation of some of the best known Star Wars music. Kid is working towards grade 3 piano, so found this super easy to get on with which was great for his confidence and he’s had great fun teaching us parents. Wish I’d bought this ages ago.

Absolutely perfect for young players
We ordered several pop music piano books online, and could only guess at the level. This one was by far the best - it's the perfect level for my daughter who is about at Grade 1/2 level. It has just two lines - right and left hand - minimal shifts required; fairly simple melodies with mostly chords accompanying on the left hand. They aren't too long, either - most are just two pages, a couple of longer ones run for four pages, but the type is very large and friendly and readable. Kids who have been playing for at least a couple of years should be able to handle these with no trouble. Plus: super fun!
