Great new design
I like the new design and it seems to have a slightly bigger cooking surface. Sturdy and well made as you would expect from lodge.

Amazing. My husband is obsessed with it!
Bought this for my husband without knowing anything about grills. He has used it sooo many times and was shocked by its high quality. I wanted something portable because he loves to camp and fish. I’d give it more stars if I could. Assembly took less than a minute because the parts are all sturdy and ready to go. It is quite heavy which for us is a plus because we know this will last forever.

The All-American hibachi
After throwing out a succession of the stamped metal Weber's that have their issue with rusting away and other problems. I wanted to get something more hibachi like. Your multiple Chinese models that look okay but they're so cheap you just wonder is that the real thing. Got a lot of Lodge cooking stuff and it's all made pretty good which proves America can at least make an cast iron pan. Hibachi kicks ass it's much more spiritual and easy to cook a small meal on. The grill is super thick metal and it just actually grills and Cooks meat beautifully and delicately and leaves little marks it's an experience. It's a little fussy you get out have to get used to cleaning it and oiling it and all the things you do when you love a piece of cast iron. The reward is after it gets really well seasoned it Cooks a damn good meal.

Solid cast iron grill, but a few things to know before you buy
I bought this in June 2024. I cook with cast iron all the time, so a cast iron grill was a no-brainer for me. This thing is a tank. Very solid and built to last. That said, there are a few things people should know going in. When I first got mine, the base felt a little wobbly. The issue turned out to be the bolts on the base, either over-tightened or under-tightened during assembly. Once I adjusted them, it sat solid. If you plan to move it around, be aware the ash pan doesn’t have any kind of retainer. If the grill tilts while carrying it, the ash pan can slide out. Since it’s cast iron, it’s not going to take many drops before it cracks. Also, if you’re not used to cast iron, this grill does require proper care and seasoning. If you skip that, it will rust and turn into a heavy, unusable piece of iron pretty quick. Pros: Very solid, heavy-duty build True cast iron, holds heat well Great option if you already use cast iron Cons: May need adjustment out of the box to sit level Ash pan can slide out when moving it Requires regular seasoning and maintenance Bottom line: This is a great grill if you understand cast iron and are willing to take care of it. I would buy it again, just know what you’re getting into.

It's a Lodge. Enough said.
I am a Lodge cast iron fan. I inherited a 10" and 12" Lodge cast iron pan and lids from my grandparents over 30 years ago - these are family heirlooms with many fond memories - still in use today! Over the years I have added to this collection including dutch ovens, woks, skillets, pots and accessories. All Lodge. We just got this Lodge Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Grill. Why? First because it's a Lodge. Enough said. Second, because our large gas grill, outdoor fire pit grill and Santa Maria grill are too big to cook on for just the two of us. Why build a bon fire or flame on a 36" grill when cooking for two? This Lodge Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Grill is perfect for two. Easy coal or oak wood starting. Plenty of room for a few steaks and veggies or hamburgers along with all the fixings. The air venting allows you to get the fire/coals just the way you want for a perfect cook. It's also portable - its a bit heavy requiring two hands - but it's also Lodge cast iron. While this grill is "pre-seasoned" I always prep and season ALL my Lodge cast iron before use. Brush down with a stainless steel brush followed by a stainless steel pad, wash under water, rinse and repeat. Oil it all with a good quality vegetable or olive oil or canola oil and pop the cast iron into the oven at 350F for an hour. Once out wipe down with a very light coating of oil. Did this with the grill as well. Seasoning and keeping it seasoned is a critical success factor when using cast iron. Highly recommended for grilling for two. Easy to use and cooks great with charcoal or with oak. Hey, it's a Lodge. Enough said.

Better than a Hibachi
Why did you pick this product vs others?: This was a decent size and can fit under my smoker hood which is down do to the electronics. Value for money: Loge is a company that makes quality cast iron products. I own several. Ease of cleaning: Easy to clean Grill quality: The grill is a thick cast iron. Rust resistance: Keep the grill oiled and there is no problem.

Field Testing
Top quality and sturdy. Assembly is easy. One batch of charcoal and the grill stays hot for a long time. Temperature is easy to control. Easily cooks 8 large sausages or 4 medium sized steaks. Amazing results are possible. Wipe down with a rag and vegetable oil before and afterwards. Store in a reasonably dry place. With good simple care, I expect to get decades of good use.
