Versatile, Clean, and Perfectly Hydrating
I recently purchased this 4-quart bag of long-fiber Sphagnum Moss, and it has quickly become a staple in my plant care routine. Whether you are working with sensitive orchids or moisture-loving tropicals, this moss performs exactly as advertised. Highlights of This Product: Long-Fiber Quality: I was very impressed by the length of the fibers. It holds structure well, making it easy to create the perfect balance of moisture retention and aeration, especially for my Monstera and carnivorous plants. Highly Absorbent: It rehydrates quickly and holds a significant amount of water without turning into a mushy mess. It stays fluffy, which is crucial for preventing root suffocation. Versatile Application: Iโve used this for everything from topping off pots to increase humidity to creating a specialized medium for my orchids. It is also completely clean and free of the debris or wood chips you often find in lower-quality moss. Perfect Packaging: The 3 oz (4 quart) size is very manageable. It arrived neatly packed and was easy to store without making a mess. Bottom Line: This is high-quality, natural sphagnum moss that is gentle on roots and perfect for a variety of plant needs. Itโs a great value for the quality provided, and I will definitely be stocking up on this for my future potting projects. Highly recommended for any indoor gardener!

Helped me completely transform and support my Monstera
I bought this sphagnum moss specifically for my Monstera, which had gotten so large and wide that it was sprawling across the floor. Some of the stems were actually getting stepped on in my home, so I needed a better way to support the plant and give the aerial/rooting stems somewhere to grow. I used this moss to fill my plant poles, and it has helped tremendously. The poles now give the plant something to climb and root into, and my Monstera is growing much more upright instead of spreading everywhere. I am incredibly happy with how my plant looks now. It feels much healthier, stronger, and more manageable, and I love being able to actually enjoy the shape of the plant instead of worrying about someone stepping on it. For anyone using moss poles with a large Monstera or another climbing plant, this worked very well for me.

Smaller than expected but still a good deal.

A little goes a long way
I bought the 6oz package since I didnโt need much. I knew it would be compressed and expand. In hindsight, I should have broken off just a corner and left the rest dried and compressed. But I did the whole brick and it filled a medium sized storage container. Maybe Iโll try making a moss pole

Will not be ordering this brand again.
I think everyone in the plant community is feeling a bit to the wallet when it comes to buying Spaghnum Moss, prices have doubled over the last year. I decided to give a few other brands a try due to cost. This was one of the brands I chose, I use this Moss for propagating and for D Shape Moss Poles I make myself. This Moss is absolute trash. I used it, because I'm already broke and I wasn't letting the 2.2lbs I bought go to waste. I do not know yet how the moss is going to do over the week with holding moisture, I'll come back with an update, but I don't have much faith. This Moss is just low quality, not fluffy and no full long fibers. This feels like what a good company swept up from their manufacturing floor when they compress it. I spent so much time picking sticks and leaves! actual leaves, from multiple other plants within the moss, and this was the smallest pile in the pic out of 6 piles of debris that I cleaned out of the one of two compressed bricks I purchased. This truly is a case of you get what you pay for, but the good stuff is double the price for the same amount because of capitalism ๐. These bricks are super compressed, way more than other brands I've used which I was actually excited about, I got the large dried bales usually and they take up so much room. I compared the amounts with the previous brand I've purchased for years, and according to the description and the graphics the amounts are supposed to be equal. This is absolutely not the case, but I truly believe this is due to the low quality and the fibers being of such bad quality. When hydrated, my previous bale filled four 4ft Moss poles, and of this brand, the one compressed brick didn't even fill one 4 ft Moss pole completely. So at this rate, it's more economical to buy the better quality brands and pay more, in this case it's just worth it. I hope the pic helps, and I wish I would have thought to take a pic of the fibers, and compare, I wish more buyers would post pics of the moss once hydrated, it would have stopped me from buying. The better brands, may have a little stick here and there, but not any other unwanted debris. Buy with extreme caution.

Expands like quadruple the the size
Way more moss than expected ๐ณ. I broke off a small piece, wet it and was able to repot 2 orchid plants with extra moss on the side. Suggestion: It would be cool if it came in small cubes because itโs hard to break apart. Anyways, Iโm satisfied and will use this brand for future repotting. Money well spent.

Good for worms!!
Purchased to toughen up my worms for fishing. A recommended medium in which to keep lob worms when thoroughly wetted with rainwater. Change weekly if keeping worms longer than anticipated to remove the build up of ammonia within the moss. Add crushed egg shell and damp cardboard to the moss it has the benefit of toughening their skins by scouring them and keeping them in better shape. Plenty to last a good while as this does expand a lot when water is applied.
