Shave your head? Tired of clogged cartridges? Try this out!!
Ever since I came of age to shave, I used cartridge razors such as Gilette Mach 3, Fusion, Shick Quattro, and Harry's. For the last eight years, I've been shaving my head and a few months ago grew my beard out for the first time. I let it grow at the sideburns and jaw, with my mustache connecting to my beard. Last year, I got the opportunity to review The Twig, another razor by Leaf. It was a gamechanger: I could shave my entire face and head and never experience razor performance degradation from clogs! Thus began a journey to try other razors that weren't cartridge type. It took time; The Twig and the other razors I tried don't have pivoting heads like cartridge razors do, so I had to practice getting good blade angle alignment. As I tried different butterfly razors, I got one that had an aggressive blade. I was again mind boggled that the aggressive razor let me get that smooth shave so much faster and easier! I tried The Twig one day and appreciated it's weight balance over the butterfly razors, but it took more effort to get a close shave. So, I looked up Leaf's shavers and discovered this razor, as well as The Thorn. Prime Day came around last month, and The Thorn was on sale! I put it in my cart immediately, and saw this was on sale. I thought "Eh, why the heck not." and bought it as well. To end my story here and summarize my use of razors now, The Thorn is everything I like about The Twig, and I thought I'd use this Leaf razor once or twice then just use The Thorn. Not the case! The Thorn is used on my face and throat, with this Leaf being used on my neck and head. This Leaf has the best of both worlds for head shaving! Since it holds three individual blades, I can't clog it at all. AND, it has a pivoting head! That is such a convenient boon for head shaving, one that I didn't realize I missed so much! I can shave against the grain on my head once with this razor, and only need to touch up one or two areas at the base of my skull that are hard to get with any razor. But I don't need to make multiple passes or worry about this razor skimming over stubble instead of cutting it due to blade angle alignment. And again, it's such a relief to be able to shave a section of my scalp, then lightly rinse this razor under water and see all of the cut hair tumble right out! No more tapping cartridges on the sink or trying to pinch off the water flow from the faucet to get a forced stream of water to flush a cartridge out and making a mess! Since this razor's head is so broad, it's not as easy to cut yourself compared to a single bladed razor. Heck, I've yet to cut myself at all with this razor! So, you might be wondering why I bother using my Twig or Thorn at all, when this Leaf is working so well for me. This is why I mentioned my beard: Don't let this razor near longer hair, or it WILL grab onto it! I had a few shortened patches of hair on my beard from learning this the hard way! It wasn't a big deal, my beard (I normally keep it short) was getting a bit long, so I just trimmed it with my electric clippers. But if my beard was already to length.... I would've been annoyed. So, that's why I reserve this razor only for my head. It did do a fantastic job on my cheeks and throat, mind, but between this razor's head size and it's willingness to grab hair, I don't think it's worth trying to hedge my beard. So keep that in mind if you're considering this razor for facial use only and also grow a beard and/or don't shave your head and have sideburns that need to be hedged. Either have another smaller razor on hand or use an electric T blade clipper. But, I think this Leaf and The Thorn have ended my journey of different razors. It's so easy to get a close shave in a decent timeframe by shaving my face and throat with hedging my beard with The Thorn and shaving my scalp with this Leaf that I no longer have a desire to use anything else with regards to manual, bladed shaving. FInally, I've used Leaf's blades, some no-name brand blades, and blades from Derby in all of my Leaf brand razors, to include this one and have never had a fitment issue. Depending on how often you shave and how quickly your hair wears blades down, using a Leaf razor over cartridges could save you money! I know I spend a LOT less on shaving equipment now, having ditched my Harry's plan!

The best non-cartridge razor for head shaving, period.
I absolutely LOVE my Leaf Razor. I shave my head daily, and the Leaf with 2 blades is the absolute BEST head shaving razor you could possibly ask for. Cheap blades that actually last a good while (I usually get 2 weeks of shaving out of each set). Smooth cutting. Babies-booty smooth skin after. Hardly ever any knicks or ingrown hairs/bumps. And the pivoting head + the safety razor blades literally make this razor the top of the heap when it comes to non-cartridge razors. I seriously can't say enough good things about the Leaf. All that being said, there are a couple things to be aware of: 1. Tight spaces (like right above the ears or edging up sideburns etc) are difficult to do with the Leaf. 2. The handle is slick, so the silicone handle sleeve they sell is a MUST have. And the good thing is it is cheap (like $7 I think). 3. The edges of the head CAN cut you because the edges of the blades stick out right to the edge of the head cover, so you have to be careful when dragging the edges over the top of your ears etc. But it's super easy to do once you realize the risk. 4. Obviously, handling the blades can be risky, but the good thing about the leaf is that you just lay them in and the magnets help with alignment. Pros: The blades are not proprietary, they are just safety razor blades cut in half. So you can just buy any brand blades and snap them yourself, or buy the half-blades. Either way they will fit. A little about my experience with the Leaf: I had one that was a gift, and the spring in the head failed. I needed to replace it so I ordered another one, because I use it literally every day. I reached out to their customer service from the website to get the other one repaired, and the customer service has been phenomenal so far. Even though I didn't have the original purchase info, they are still willing to help me out with repairing my razor. They actually offered a discount for a replacement OR a free repair, and since I already ordered a new one, I am opting for the repair. I'll add to this review if the experience goes poorly, but based on how it's gone so far, I imagine I'll have my old razor repaired and back in my hands for a spare before too long.

Perfect mild and efficient razor that was designed for head shaving
I've shaved my head a couple of times with the Leaf Shaver using just two of the slots (the bottom and middle one) and changing the blades for each shave. I used one Personna blade and one Astra blade for the two head shaves. The razor is very efficient in removing scalp hair - I was able to do a complete shave in two passes without missing any spots. In the past, using a cartridge razor, it took me 3 and sometimes 4 touch up passes to complete the process. The Leaf shaver is extremely mild and with the pivoting head functions just like a cartridge razor - I did not experience any nicks or cuts or razor burn and clean up in between passes was very easy and complete. Inspite of being mild, it is also very efficient in giving one a close shave, so on all counts this one is a definite plus. I also did not find the handle to be very slippery - the indentations on the inside of the handle were sufficient enough to be able to hold the razor properly. While some have mentioned that the size of the head is an issue, I did not have that problem either - one just holds down the ear with one hand and shave around it with the other. Kudos to Leaf for their design - I hope the Leaf Two that is replacing this razor is as good or better than the original. In my case, I am a very happy customer and plan to use the original leaf razor for as long as I can.

easy transition for head/body shaving
Update 11/2/23: While this doesn't detract from the razor's good attributes, the top blade doesn't do anything. I don't know if it's due to the top plate being a little misaligned, not allowing the blade to stick out far enough, but I've taken the bottom two blades out and used the razor on my arm with just the top blade, and it doesn't cut anything. I've seen various posts online about this misalignment. It's kind of a drag, but I still feel more comfortable using this pivoting head razor on my head than I do a fixed DE. I don't use a ton of cartridge razor heads to shave my head, but I still like the idea of not having to pay so much for replacement razor heads. Many reviews pointed me to this razor as a good option for head shaving, so I went for it on prime day. Wow, that is all I can say. It has led me to be a little more purposeful with my shaving, but it was definitely an easy transition, with the pivoting head and triple-blade setup. It takes the same amount of time as before, but I also take my time. It gives me a nice shave after a with the grain pass and across the grain pass. Going against the grain just makes it that much more smooth. I'm sure I could do better, and faster, but so far I am really enjoying this razor to shave my head. For cons, I would say the size and design make it a little difficult to get the hair behind my ears. The handle is too narrow and slippery for me. As soon as I get shave cream on my hands, it becomes a bit scary to hold while shaving. At a minimum, I would suggest they make the handle thicker. The silicon handle cover, which I also purchased, helps, but it is a bandaid. And a minor con, I would have liked a different color, but the polished look is quite nice. As my first use of a safety razor, I am really glad I gave this razor a chance for head shaving.

This is a great head and body razor.
First off, this razor is great quality. Along with a lifetime limited warranty on any part failure it really is a razor that will last your whole life. I have shaved my head for ten years at least and when I say I have tried just about every razor under the sun, I mean every cartridge razor from shick, gillete, dollar shave, Harry's etc (including weird ones like the head blade atv and pit bull electric rotaory head shavers). I mean merkur, Parker and every other major player in the DE razor space, and this one is my absolute favorite non cartridge razor for my head. It's incredibly efficient because of its three blades. I can shave my head with this almost as fast as a regular cartridge razor, and with the right blades in this thing it shaves closer than my gillete cartridges. I recommend Astra greens or voskhods if you are just starting out because they have a Teflon coating to help but they aren't the sharpest blades for the closest shave. If you are a veteran to saftey razors I'd use bic chrome platinum or feather blades to get a BBS shave but they will slice you up still if you arent careful as both of those blades are very, very sharp. My girlfriend also tells me it is excellent for her legs and arm pits because as I said it's very efficient and the tilting head and large surface area help her get done very quickly with a really smooth shave. The one place this razor suffers is around delicate features like the ear and doing line work like sideburns and jaw line IF you have a beard. For a regular smooth face shave it works just fine except it's a little tricky to do the upper lip, again just because of the size of the head on the razor. I own a high proof razor and a henson razor that I prefer both of those for my detail work for this purpose because they are smaller heads and can get in tighter spaces. My girlfriend also prefers the high proof razor (because it is a single blade smaller head similar tilting design to the leaf) for her private area over the leaf, due to size of the head and again it being harder to work into small spaces. That being said both of those razors are similarly priced, the high proof a little more, the henson a little less, and I'd still choose the leaf if I had to keep just one. There is a little bit of a learning curve but that's true for all saftey blade razors and the leaf is actually the easiest to learn because of its tilting head and the blade gaps while farther apart, are set to a spacing that tries to mimick a cartridge head but with just a tad more aggressiveness. With any saftey razor it's important to warm up your hair follicles and use a good quality shave soap. Because of the surface area on this razor I have found that a super slick shave cream works best something like creamo with a decent amount of water in the mix. I would not use a foam or gel aerosols type shave cream with this razor or really any saftey razor for the best shave. Bottom line is, if you are going to make anything work that isn't a cartridge razor, this leaf plus ANY decent regular style butterfly DE razor will be all you ever need for every eventuality and you will have saved so much using the leaf after 2 or 3 months that it will have paid for itself if you are a regular cartridge razor user. It's a no brainer.

Straight to the cart!
If your reading this your sceptical or worried about the cost, but broski It'll be the best decision ever! Don't hesitate to buy this, yeah price blah blah blah. BUT for real! Replacement blades are CHEAP and this one doesnt dull after only a couple shaves! It's a little weird with the all metal design and zero resistance but my gosh it does EVERYTHING and does it well!

The OG Leaf Still Reign Supreme - Shower Mount Is A Must - Mild & Amazing!
This 3 blade shave from Leaf is likely my favorite of their lineup. I have a quick breakdown below of where each shines. The construction of this OG leaf is just beautiful. If you're going to leave this in your shower the Chrome finish is likely the best choice. Blade changes are simple, though the 2 blade leaf is quicker. This shaver strikes a nice balance of being quite mild but since it has 3 blades doesn't require numerous passes. Highly recommend. The shower mount is also amazing, it's a must for temporary or permanent shower storage usage. You can find the mount here: https://amzn.to/4ofclQG OG Leaf - Mild, Forgiving, Intuitive Leaf 2 - Much more aggressive, amazing new blade change mechanism, won't clog! Twig - Very mild, great for precision trimming Thorn - Moderate to aggressive, great for precision use on coarse hair

A must for those who shave their heads
Got one for my father (soon 87) who sometimes has a mild tremor in his hands (not Parkinson, fortunately) after hearing the reviews and online noise, and knowing that, unlike me, he never could get into DE razors - and even with all of his conditions, it has been great for him: good shaves, no nicks, cuts or irritation whatsoever. He seems to be happy with it and spends less time shaving his face. So that alone speaks of itself and I thought it would be great for me too. I lost half of my hair at 21 and have been shaving my head ever since with cheap or no name DE razors or a "safety" shavette. I just got it and tried it shaving head+beard, and here are my first impressions: First things first, its build and engineering qualities are just outstanding. That alone makes it deserve five stars. I felt it weird at first because this is the first time I used a "multi-razor cartridge"-type razor after 8 years of using DE razors or a shavette. The area that goes in contact with your skin is considerably big so it's difficult to tell where are the razors exactly cutting, but that is expected in this type of razors. Unlike DE razors, I really appreciate that its handle is not cilyndrical or some symmetric orthogon that makes it difficult to tell where the blade side is when you're shaving the back of your head - so only it will be difficult for it to rotate when you're holding in your hands but you are able to reposition it without looking. At least in this mate version the grip is great and doesn't slip. The multiple blades make it for an perfect* shave, and it indeed reduces the shaving time compared to DE razors - no need to do multiple passes to get a clean shave on a certain area. Also it reduces irritation greatly - I also had no cuts, nicks nor irritation - as my father, I don't even use shaving specific shampoos, oils or whatever. I had "long" hair (say, 5 mm) when shaving - and surprisingly hair didn't get clogged as much as I imagined - though as you can suppose my hair has never been thick, so I can't tell how it would be for people with thick beard. Now, it wasn't a 100% perfect shave, but it was very close. Not much because of the peculiarities of the razor but more because my skull has some bumps and irregularities at the back side, so it's almost impossible for any razor to do a perfect shave back there. Still, at one moment at the crown area the upper part of the head (the area that covers the upper blade) slipped over the skin and I almost got a cut, something that has happened to me with any razor - the blade accidentally slips horizontally and cuts you. Fortunately it didn't happened this time - maybe a bad technique from my part but still I feel like that area can be somewhat too slippy. Naturally it's not the ideal solution when shaving over tight areas (around your ears, your upper lip) when you need to tell where the blade is cutting. Still I got the closest and nicest shave for the upper lip I've ever had. Its other "caveat" for me, just to be nitpicky, is that as the contact area is so big (and its head pivots by itself) it's difficult to "sense" how to apply somewhat pressure to the blades against the skin when shaving. I get this can be just an "only me" thing whereas it can be a great feature for other people who prefer to rely on the razor itself to do its job - and indeed it does a great job.

Amerikan malı sanarak aldım ancak kutusunda Made in China yazıyor. Bana maliyeti 125 dolar olan bir üründe Made in USA yazmasını isterdim.

Great razor! Biggest cons are that it's expensive and the razor doesn't include the silicone sleeve.
Honestly, I should have switched to straight razors years ago but never did until recently. To be fair, though, straight razors are not very forgiving, especially when you're still getting used to them. The blades are so sharp that you cut yourself easily. This razor is much more forgiving and you can shave faster with the contours of your body without worrying about knicking yourself going over an uneven surface or not holding the blade at the right angle. That being said, my only complaints are that one, this razor is super expensive, even on sale (but it's also the easiest to shave with and the most forgiving straight razor). Secondly, for the price of this razor, the product itself should automatically include the silicone sleeve, which it doesn't. That's a rip off in my opinion as you're spending big bucks on a razor, the silicone sleeve should be included in the price as a courtesy. But no, Leaf razor has them on amazon for $15 which is very overpriced in my opinion. But this is a great razor that shaves as easily as the cheap razors that you can find in the store, only the blades stay sharper a lot longer than 2 uses. I'd recommend this product but on sale, such as prime day.
