Good value, not the most complex, but nice.
Giving this 5 stars based on the value. It's fine; it is definitely, noticeably a wakoucha. It's a bit flatter than some I've had, with less of the rose-like taste... but it's also half as expensive per gram, maybe even less than half, compared to those "rosier" teas.I'd say this leans into savory notes, even a little bean-like if I had to compare it to something? The floral note is there, but it's not very pronounced. I notice it's lighter in color (both the leaves and brewed tea) than some other wakoucha I've had. It also has way bigger leaves, which probably contributes to the comparative lack of intensity as well. That's not bad, just a matter of preference. I'm not sure what cultivar(s) it actually is since it doesn't say. Anyway, the image is true to what you get, re: leaf size and color.Overall- it's low in bitterness with a hint of sweetness, which is what I look for in Japanese black tea. It's robust enough for sugar and milk, but it doesn't require it to be enjoyable, and for two steeps as well. My favorite? No, but I don't regret the purchase, either. Good if you want something mellow.

Great drink but not your average black tea.
A delicious tea with a mild and slightly savoury taste. This tea is not like the black tea we normally get in the UK, it is more like a red tea but I have found it to be an enjoyable drink when made properly.
