best learning remote I've found
These are the best learning remotes we have ever used. I now have seven of these remotes in use. Saves walking around the room trying to find remotes. We have one by each easy chair, both couches (both ends), etc.Mostly we set up two devices (A TV whose tuner went wonky so we use it as an HDMI access point, and added an HDMI ASTC tuner stick that makes a complete over the air TV). The TV also has a FireTV stick so the remote control allows choice of input (HDMI port selection), a secondary volume control and mute, and screen power (off/on). The ASTC tuner is used for channel selection (numeric keypad), primary volume control and mute, and misc tuner functions such as last used, channel up/down, menu access, etc and ASTC stick power (off/on).Learning mode is easy using the original remotes as follows:1.Select an input device and turn on learning (press device key and volume up key and hold til device light comes on2. Point the ORIGINAL remote at the LEARNING remote (2 to 3 inches apart - head to head)3. Press and release a key on the ORIGINAL remote - the device light on the LEARNING remote should start blinking - press and release the correct key on the learning remote that you wish to program - The device light should become steady.4. Repeat step 3 until all keys have been programmed as desired.5 End learning by pressing the learning remote device key and volume down key simultaneously.I then check each key on the new remote and if any are missing (it happens maybe once every 10 or 15 keys) then I do steps 1-5 again on just those keys and that usually does the trick. If you need on/off control of a device be sure to also program the power key through learning with each device key.Note if a key just will not program, rather than spend a lot of time on it, I select an alternate key on the new remote - actually that is almost never an issue. But I have on one occasion found one of the new remote device keys will not accept programming. Fortunately the other two device keys on the remote did work fine and since I personally only use 2 devices, that worked out OK.One other note, one remote seemed to lose programming on one device key, but a change to fresh batteries brought it back. The other device key did not lose programming with the old batteries - so the remotes might be voltage sensitive in order to power the internal circuitry. The remote in question had alkaline AA batteries. I have not had any issues on remotes with rechargeable (NIMH) batteries. If having problems, first check should be a battery change. All my complaints are minor and easily solved - I absolutely recommend these to anyone needing a second (or more) infrared remote control.

Easy to program and workes well
This remote works well, easy to use and very easy to program. But, I can not give a 5 star rating to any product that I have to use a mircoscope to read the manual.

Excellent Learning Function
This remote is easy to program using the ""Learn"" function, but the two remotes must be 1-3 cm apart. That's about an inch. Other learning remotes I have used allowed for more distance. Still, if you keep them that close, the learning function works well. I did not try the programming function where you enter a code.I had a learning remote that I was using, but it required precise aiming since the signal pattern was very narrow. Often I had repeat the pushing the key after adjusting my aim. This remote has a wider signal pattern so you don't have to aim so precisely. That's a big plus for me.The OK button and the surrounding arrow keys are well spaced. The description says the keys are "glow" keys, but even in a completely dark room, I see no glow.

I had to return the item, but that was easy.
It looked like it was programming successfully but after it was completed, it would not change any channels or adjust the volume.

Old but Reliable
Old but reliable. Great to get a 'Learning' remote at this price. Codes and book are old (still mentions VCRs), but I was able to learn my Roku's IR codes.

Great remote for the price
Woeks well, easy to teach.. a bit awkward feel in the hand and vol and chan buttons could be positioned better...

Couch-Potato H.E.A.V.E.N.
My new universal "learning" remote arrived, this morning! Already, I have it programmed to operate my 75" Vizio Smart HDTV and my "old-school" faithful DVD player, plus a Ceiling Fan, too!I spent about 45 minutes tinkering with the buttons, it felt almost like I was "sculpting" a work of art? I really like having full-control over my ever-growing assortment of remotes. I managed to make every single button, DO exactly what I wanted them to DO, even the difficult unique "feature" buttons? Not to mention my Region-Free DVD player with it's difficult-to-learn cheap remote control, now has been perfectly programmed, like Magic! (wow!)In Short, my Remote-Control MESS is now Remote -Control H.E.A.V.E.N.I am very pleased with the Quality & Functionality of this Product, not to mention the low price!

Works great, now have 1 remote instead of 3.
Works great. I was substitute 3 remotes for 1. I did the option of learning from the old remotes. Was easy to do.
