Dear customer, this is the digital display panel, which shows the working status, or the playtime of a movie or music, not a clock.

how do I fix the fact that it turns itself up to max and makes a loud hum/buzz noise

All I had to do to fix the hum/buzz noise, was move it away from electrical interference. Didn't figure that out until after the return, though.
