Babies and Broadswords: The Book with All the Rules Paperback – January 10, 2022

Babies and Broadswords came out of the left field of the Dungeons and Dragons house of independent development. The eye catching name was enough for me to take a moment to dive deeper. A quick flick through the book shows that the creators are going for a fun and whimsical theme by including colorful pages and crayon type headings.I've enjoyed D&D for the better part of two decades and I double down on my role playing ability against my character min/max-ing. I enjoy feeling my way through a game by poking at the world and playing with the outcomes. Babies and Broadswords creates a fun, inviting world that's tongue-in-cheek comedy mixes well with rolling against three major skills. As much as I enjoy rolling dice, adding modifiers, checking against my AC, it's nice to take a break with with something that, albeit slimmed down, doesn't stand in the way of creating a fun and entertaining story. Plus the game is inviting to younger players who are just stepping into the world of role playing. A large group of players that Wizard of the Coast books seem to forget about.Even Footing Games has made a big splash in the world D&D world with Babies and Broadswords and I look forward to what they do in the future.

The dark humor, poop jokes, and references to classic RPGs all are a huge reason why this game is a blast to play! It turns out, when you get adults together to play a D&D ish game of basically Rugrats or Muppet Babies, they absolutely cut loose with the goofy voices and ridiculous role play. But it's also incredibly easy to learn, so anyone can pick it up and have a great time!

This is a great game and lots of fun! It is an intuitive game system that is easy to learn. The artwork and colors are nice. The best part of all that is included are the campaign modules. They are well written, easy to follow, and lots of fun to play. My family and I are having a blast with this game!

I was pleasantly surprised by this product. The art is amazing, it's written well, and i was able to get my whole family in on the fun. 5 stars!

Babies and Broadswords is a fantastic, simple system to grasp but has plenty of flexibility to min-max to make super-powered adventurous babies that have to navigate their Orphanage (or whatever setting your GM chooses!). I was particularly impressed with how quick it was to set up my character, and what rolls were necessary to accomplish what goals. Being able to choose which stat I used so long as I could justify it properly made for some fantastic scenes in the game I played. I highly recommend this game and its expansions/pre-gen adventures.
