Interesting characters
The book set up seemed odd because random chapters would have Amy in college, the next chapter had married, then back to living with her parents...if there were headings, I think I missed them. This made the plot a bit hard to follow. And then an complex coordinated social attack flips the book.

Fictional biography of an accidental aristocrat
This is a biographical study of a woman who married into British Aristocracy accidentally to her ultimate regret. It eventually works out for her to get a life of her own!

Great summer read
RATING:4/5Easy read but still thought provoking, this was an ideal companion at the beach. Interesting mix of characters and I really empathised with Amy and cared what happened to her. The only thing is, I wanted more of the same as the first scene in the law firm. Maybe for the next book?

Outstanding read!!!
Amy discovered as we all should that happiness and self worth come from within ourselves not through association with the "right" person. We need to take the time to discover who we are individually before seeking a significant other to share our life. I cannot remember the last time I enjoyed a book so much.

Enjoyable reading
I was approached by the author and provided with a free copy of this book in exchange for an open and honest review.Trophy Life falls comfortably within the confines of the chick-lit genre. It's a light-hearted and enjoyable read that takes us on an entertaining, and often exasperating jaunt alongside the over-privileged, spoilt personas of the rich and famous London elite. They say all fiction has its roots in reality; and I'm sure this story has moments when it comes uncomfortably close to the truth, as we accompany the main character, Amy, through the often traumatic wilderness years that stretch from post adolescence into adulthood. Share Amy's shock, discomfort and regular frustrations as she tries to be the trophy wife her successful, if demanding husband needs her to be, while treading the treacherous waters of a group of venomous women that refer to themselves as the 'London Ladies'.Without wanting to spoil the plot, as the true emptiness of Amy's life is revealed, she starts to learn just how shallow many of her so-called friends and family really are. Revenge in the upper social circles knows no bounds and those with wealth and status really don't care who they hurt in the process. Is there anyone but herself that Amy can truly rely upon.

disappointed.
After reading Ellie's second book and enjoying it very much I decided to give her first book a look. Honestly I wish I hadn't bothered. I didn't care for the Characters or their stories and decided to stop reading about them after the first few chapters as it was all getting a bit predictable and I was bored. I am glad I read her second book first as if I had read this book first I would never have even bothered with The Lottery Club.

A page turning read
My heading says it all really. I found this a fun enjoyable book and read the whole thing in a few days. Amy's a very real character and there's a nice humour which makes it easy and light. I liked the idea of someone falling into this kind of trophy-wife lifestyle by accident andadd to that some surprising turns of events and it was an unexpected little treat. Overall a feel good, easy read that's genuinely enjoyable. Highly recommend.

Good read that has you rooting for the main character
This was an enjoyable, relaxing read, just the thing for a bath at the end of a hard day. The main character was likeable and the others gave enough flavour to ensure the ending wasn't entirely predictable. I'd certainly read more by the author.

Deceptively frothy with an empowering message
I really enjoyed this book and its emphasis on Amy needing to find herself first rather than allowing her identity to be defined for her. The characters were well written and the plot moved along at pace. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
