Best mousepad I've EVER tried!
My work computer was really sluggish, using mouse directly on desk, cursor jumping around, so last week I got mad and ordered a new Logitech mouse and a new mousepad. Definitely did not want a foam type pad, I was looking for something flat and hard but not huge like the gaming pads, and when I found this innovative "aluminum" pad and that it came in small, I quickly bought it. OMG, this is smooth! Yes, part of that is the new mouse, but this mousePAD is clean, not in the way, can be used on the metal side or the leather side per preference, it's just perfect, and I'm VERY happy with it! Definitely a 5-star item!

The leather side is more useful
I tried the metal side, my mouse which has a metal frame, put about a dozen scratches on the metal finish in 30 seconds.I found if I put the entire rubber sticky pad, including the outline bit, on the bottom of the pad it doesnt slide around or wobble on the desk. See picture as to where I put the pads. The leather side works great, very aesthetic.

It does tend to slide around on a table.
I gave it 4*'s because of it sliding around, but 5 star's for everything else. For the sliding, the solution was simple: I rolled single sided scotch tape to make it double sided, placed them on the 4 corners, then pressed it down on the table - it doesn't budge. And because it's just regular tape, it will be easy to lift it off. This is a good quality mouse pad that's far better than the rubber type that wear out. Pretty sure this will be the last mouse pad I ever buy.Oh, and do attach the supplied little anti-squeak pads to your mouse: it makes all the difference.

Great Mouse Pad, After Modification
I bought a new, ergonomic mouse due to the fact that my wrist was becoming quite sore. Once the new mouse arrived I was very happy with it, but it made my old neoprene mouse pad obsolete. The new mouse would drag and catch on the old mouse pad, due to its texture, so I set it aside and used this new mouse alone on my table top for a while. The base of the mouse began wearing into the tabletop, so it seemed I needed a solution. I puzzled over new mouse pads here on Amazon, and finally decided to pick a metal one. Once I did that, I found a couple of things. First of all, I had thought that I would use the sheer aluminum side of the pad, and for some reason I thought that the leather side of the pad would stick to the table. This was not the case. The base of the mouse scraped and squealed on the surface of the aluminum side, while it glided nicely on the leather side. Unfortunately, this pad would not stay put on my table. It is a rigid sheet of finished metal, and it slid around with the motion of the mouse.I decided it was time for some modification. I was basically happy using my new mouse with the leather side of this mouse pad, but I needed a way to keep the aluminum side from sliding around on my table.I took my old neoprene mouse pad and cut it down so that it was slightly smaller than this new mouse pad. I happen to have some good double stick tape in my collection of crafts stuff, so I laid out some lines of tape on the fabric side of the neoprene mouse pad. Then, I flipped it over and stuck it down to the aluminum side of the new mouse pad. I took some pictures of my work so you can get the idea of what I was doing. The result was 100% satisfaction. The new mouse pad with its neoprene foundation stays put on my table nicely, and works well with my new ergonomic mouse. I imagine other types of adhesive would stick neoprene to the desired side of this mouse pad. Perhaps there are other sheets of fabric that would cause the mouse pad to not slip around the way it does. I was just using materials that I had around the house.I am fully satisfied with the size of this mouse. I ordered the small size and it fits nicely on my desk. It accommodates all motions of my mouse, and I have no need of a larger mouse pad. I am glad that I took measurements before purchasing.I want to emphasize that I was surprised to find that the leather side of this pad was the one that worked best with my mouse. It is not true leather, but a finely textured solid layer that appears to be plastic. I am quite satisfied with the result, but I felt it necessary to knock off a couple stars due to the fact that it needed modification to work right

Very loud and slow
Pros:- Small size- looks nice- Hard surface- Double sided (although only one is remotely usable)Cons:- Super loud even with the provided stickers they suggest you stick on your mouse.- Super slow. Feels like mouse is on sand paper.Only one side of the pad is usable; the side with the faux leather veneer. ...and that's only if you put the included stickers on the bottom of your mouse. (I find this hilarious and ridiculous with my top-of-line MX Master Series mouse. ...as if the mouse is the problem.) The plain aluminum side is just too loud in all cases. However, with the stickers and using the one good side, it's not too bad.
