Kinect NAT GEO TV (Xbox 360)

I have been thinking of getting this game for a while and is one of the few I bought at Amazon recently due to some very good deals, unlike the others, which I buy from some my other favourite places. At the time, I was thinking it wouldn't be that much fun, after all it's repackaged National Geographic content about wildlife and nature. That thought however pretty much disappeared the moment the discs got played.Because, I got to say, I was pleasantly surprised, as this perhaps is one of the finest Kinect game titles to own, because it combines two great things kids love - animals and gaming into one. On one hand they can learn about animals, their eating habits, what they do, which include Bears, Mountain Lions etc. and on other hand they can use the learned things to play games, where they can become the animals themselves like an Owl to feed grasshoppers to her babies.While playing, it's quite amazing to see the kids faces, their hands and feet replaced by animal faces, hands and feet, which look quite realistic and their hectic frenzy to finish the task assigned. There is plenty of game play and when they get tired, they can get back to watching the episodes. Even while episodes are running, there are plenty of things they can do like snapping pictures by just speaking 'SNAP' aloud if they want to.So, quickly, here's what you might like to know if you are wanting to buy this for your kids.THE GOOD=========+ Superb Content from National Geographic. Unlike other games, this has 2 Discs full of content you can watch, learn about bears, mountain lions etc.+ Watch and Play. All episodes have interactive elements, where kids can do small activities, so it's almost interactive TV in that sense.+ Great to play with friends. Your kids can play together or with their friends. It supports multi-player, so, you can be two bears looking for honey.+ Game play. There is a dedicated party mode, where kids can play with their friends to do everything from hunting for honey as a bear, to kicking wolves, feeding grasshoppers to owls to even playing mother lion keeping her children safe.THE BAD========- Not meant for real small children. Ideal age would be 3+ and it's best for 5-7 year olds. In either case, Kinect has trouble seeing kids smaller than that.- Can get boring, like other titles once you watch all the episodes. However, the game play in itself can be played pretty much anytime they throw a party.CONCLUSION============So, buy or not?YES; as long as you not paying the full price, have a compatible XBOX (bought in India/PAL region) and your kids are 3 and above; older children will have most fun, since they can easily understand the game play and listen to the episodes in English. Most XBOX 360 games are on deal prices now anyways, so keep a watch out; a good price for this would be anywhere between 500-1200, if it's lower, don't think too much :)Unlike the other Kinect games, this is very educational and has enough content to watch and have fun with for quite some time, though, eventually they will get bored. I will definitely recommend you getting this.Hope this helps.

Bought this for my 6 year old boy and he thoroughly loves it.It's a genius idea that blends learning and activity perfectly with teh Kinect.If you have children from as little as 4 - 12 this is a must buy for the Kinect 360.

My kids just finished the grizzly bear episode. Good educational value along with a kids games. A must have for a family.
